I hear it daily on HairNation, sometimes multiple times a day pending my drive time. And it’s cranked max every time. Blew my door speaker to this damn song! 😂
@@kenmassey6905 Here's another "fact". A violin bow was NOT used in this song. It was strictly a music video prop. The violin sounds were being produced by John Sykes manipulating his tone and volume controls on his guitar. Also, side "fact". The guitarist in this video isn't even John Sykes. Fake replacement guitarist in the video using a fake prop.
Not gonna lie…I pretty much forgot this song…like father and son reactions, it’s been a minute since I heard it. Great choice! I’m happy you reminded me how lit it was. ❤
Anybody who likes this needs to check out BLUE MURDER, John Sykes, ( the guitarist here) next band! It was pretty much a supergroup of pure gunslingers with John playing and singing. It’s outstanding, Classic Hard Rock. Trust the Old School, I know what I’m talking about, I was THERE! It’s Badass! Saw them live too. 🙂 Ha Ha!
I fucking saw this tour! I saw the first 3 tours! YEE-HAW!!! Aaaauuuhhhg! Still of Night! Cool Moonlight! I was eighth row for this one and it was DAMN LOUD! I don’t think people who weren’t there understand just how fucking LOUD some of these concerts were! This was before all the limitations and whatever people complained about. Drinking, smoking, getting loud and rowdy, we didn’t just sit there! Weed getting passed around was standard operating procedure. Those were the days as they say. 😁👍 We Rocked and Partied Hard in the 80’s! I’m sure some of today’s younger people would be shocked at how we did it. Pretty sure your mouth would be hanging open! Ha Ha! WHOOoooo!
@patriciaroberts308 when i was, young my hair was platinum blonde, then at about 14 it turned mouse brown. At 25 it started turning gray, by the time i hit 40 it was back to blonde again. Now I'm 68 and still blonde. Although my wife says it's actually, gray I'm sticking with blonde.
John Sykes, John Sykes, John Sykes and John Sykes! Every guitar you hear and the entire new arrangement was all his work. Too bad Coverdale's ego ran him off before the tour.
That beautiful actress is Tawney Kittaine. R.I.P. She died recently, I think. What many people don't know; is that O.J. Simpson also dated Tawney, shortly before, she started dating David. David stayed over one night, O.J. still had a key. David woke up in the middle of the night, to find O.J. hovering about 3 inches above his face, threatening to kill him. David Coverdale is a lucky man.
This album came out when our Marine battalion came back from overseas. I will never forget the 1st time I heard this album. John Sykes on guitar just blew me away.
This song is truly epic, for the fact, David's voice, goes from, Low blues sounds to the highest of high's of the 80s. This is my all time favorite song from, whitesnake 🤘🤘
The only song that has a climax in the middle. If you listen to his performance on Deep Purple's 1975 Come Taste the Band album, you can hear the groundwork being laid for Whitesnake.
When I seen them in concert Vivian Campbell played guitar for them on this song and only this song but Sykes did all the other songs . Didn’t make since but it happened.
The bow on the guitar is for style points only. That's a cello tune that's actually being played by a synthesizer. At least that's how it was in concert when I saw them on this tour back in '87. Great band, legendary track though! So awesome to see black people love this kind of music! I think this music could bring us back together.
When I first heard this back when it came out I was like, what? Robert Plant has a new band??!!! The range, tone, delivery of Coverdales voice is up there on par with Plant. I believe.
@@kmcgarr1 one is a baritone (Coverdale) the other is a tenor (Page) the top end range for both is close, the lower register Coverdale has way more bottom, more snarl as well and power over his career
We all know how long it took to make this video. We all appreciate all the hard work #Momma put into it, so I can say without fear of contradiction, it was worth the wait. Every minute of it. While Whitesnake's most artistic days were ten years in the rearview, you couldn't tell it by this video. Ergo, for a minute, it's 1987 again, on the faces of these young people; so many I follow now because I found them here. #AlexHive I'm comin' for you. Thanks #Momma! Your move, #DerekBrooks.
John Sykes was 🔥FIRE w that bow !! Rudy Sarzo and the whole band was Phenomenal !! Most people need a cold shower after this one !!😂😂😂 Loved them in the 80’s and still do at 62!!
Today it may seem like a typical 80's rock song, but back then it was a real banger that got a lot of attention. White Snake was sort of known as a 70's rock band on their last leg until this album, when they came out with this banger like "Sit the fuck down 'cause we ain't done yet". BTW - The girl is actress Tawney Kitaen (1961-2021), may she rest in peace.
That was a great thing about the 80s man we all just thought about new ways of bringing music up what's nice to see that people keep bringing music up up and up there's no stopping it
10:29 ... Yeah bro this is definitely a song that you FU¢K to You do not make love to this song. Speaking from experience. I think I was 20 when this one dropped. ❤️🤘
If you love this music you need to check out Blue Murder. John Sykes left Whitesnake after this album and formed Blue Murder. Their 1st album is a masterpiece
I was 16 yrs old in 1987 when this came out.I played this album over and over and still love it to this day.The woman in this video was the beautiful Tawny Kitaen, she is also in the video for Here I go again from the same album as still of the night. Also forgot to mention that sadly Tawny passed away a few years ago, died way too young😢
@@Rob-oy2hr 27th of may here. Some songs had been released on the Saints and Sinners album in november 1982 so this is re-vamped. I qued for that album aswell 5 years erlier 😂😂
Unfortunately Whitesnake did not actually use a violin bow on guitar for that effect, that was just for show for the video. They did use a cello or viola in studio when recording that part, saw a rockumentary years ago
Many people compared Whitesnake to Led Zepplin but on steroids because they were able to take the blues plus classic rock sound and came up with the formula that was perfect during the 80's. There are no bad songs on the entire self titled album Whitesnake so no one will be disappointed.
❤❤❤ my fav rock video!! WS encompassed it all!! John Sykes playing w a bow was 🔥🔥🔥🔥!!! They had looks and talent !! Fun times in the 80’s !! This video drips w SEX !! And that right there is how it was done in the BIG HAIR DAYS❤❤❤❤❤
Ratt "lovin you is a dirty job" Winger "Madeline" Tall Storie's "wild on the run" Dangerous Toys "I like being scared" Shotgun Messiah "Heart-Break blvd" 😁
Jimmy Page mastered the violin bow on the guitar , before these guys ...Just Whitesnake insight . David Coverdale , did this song in one take . After Deviated septum surgery...
Great job WonderMomma! How many ways ? can we enjoy the greatness of a truly great song... and the band... and musicianship is off the charts... on a personal note ... this is my favorite Rudy (my doppleganger) Sarzo performances as well. Thank you for putting this together with many of my favorite reactors too 👍
Initially the female role of the "Whitesnake woman" was planned for the pre-fame Claudia Schiffer, but the night before the shoot the plan fell apart. Coverdale's future wife Tawny Kitaen was chosen to be play the role
It wouldnt be a whitesnake video without Tawny Kittaen (RIP)...this imo was the best song whitesnake ever did... The complexity stands out especially the synthesizer violin solo... You honestly do not think he was playing violin notes on a guitar do you with a bow? Guitar fret boards are completely level... There's no way to play individual notes on one with a bow... Violin strings are in a crowned fashion so you can easily play individual notes
Whitesnake makes me cringe but I watched the video all the way through, leaving a comment and dropping a like cause this channel is wonderful ❤ Glad you're back!
Did you know Led Zeppelin was thier mentors, Coverdale took after Robert plant, and Jimmy page was the first one to use the violin on the guitar strings
John Sykes co wrote and recorded all guitar parts for the song. He does not appear in the video. The musicians in the video had nothing to do with the recording of the song.
None of the guys in this video except Coverdale were on the recording of this song. They did tour with Coverdale to support this album. The first to leave after the tour was Vivian Campbell, who Coverdale didn't get along with. Campbell joined Def Leppard a few years later.
What a great tribute to a truly epic track...thanks for the super effort you put into this one - by far the single best multi-reaction video I have EVER watched. Bravo.
