I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have heard this performed, and performed it thousands of times throughout my 55 years. Dan ABSOLUTELY 💯 has the best rendition EVER! (Imho) He absolutely blows everyone else out of the park. I've listened to this since 3 weeks after he released it. Multiple times a day and it still gives me chills and moves me to tears. I truly believe that God ordained/inspired Dan to do this song "for such a time as this". When our world is in turmoil and more divided than ever. As a fan of Dan before this performance, you might be interested to know that he told us, his fans, WHY he chose this song and the timing of its release. Dan is our Christian brother, who lives in Brazil. He was feeling grieved that the Easter holiday has become increasingly ignored around the world, and wanted to change that. So he recorded this and got it ready in time to release on Good Friday, 2023. Also, the harmonica Dan plays here was his very first musical instrument, given to him by his Papa when he was only 7 years old. God bless you, ma'am! I very much enjoyed your reaction to Dan Vasc's ability to bring new life& I think making many listeners really hear& understand the truth &meaning of this song, which in some churches is used as a hymn &gotten through because it's so common in their music selections that with just a congregation or even a choir singing, you know the words coming&automatically slide through the listening half tuned to next stage of service! I've even heard negative comments when played as to being a wretch needing God, which to me, we are all wretches in need of God's Grace, Hope, Love& Faithful Promises HE has made to each one who opens their eyes&hearts to see&accept HIS Presence by inviting HIM in, to be with us through all our trials, and maybe more importantly, our successes in whatever we receive,through HIM❣️I've not heard anyone bring life to this song the way God's presence empowers our lives& desire to feel"AMAZING GRACE" alive within us as Dan Vasc has. Dan Vasc is phenomenal. I found him in June and have been hooked on that voice ever since. He can do so much, it's hard to believe it's all coming out of one guy. He performs every song with feeling and depth. He's introduced me to songs and bands I'd never heard of. You will be amazed. Please share him with your family and friends. He's a beast!

As for the opera group....watch Dan perform Handel's Hallelujah Chorus as a one man choir.

He does a lot of rock/metal covers, but also takes a run at so many other genres. I watched one of his Q & A sessions from a while ago after watching this song as I heard a specific quality and was going to tell him he should check them out and low and behold he actually says in the Q & A that they were one of his influences! It was Petra, a Christian Rock band (in the Christian world they considered Petra metal, but they aren't close to it outside of there). He is very good, awesome sound, and yes, full of conviction with this rendition!

Dan has a phenomenal voice, and puts everything he has into each performance. He sings just about anything, and makes it his own. Dan has 240 videos out, including, “Nessun Dorma”, “Music of the Night”, “Burn Butcher Burn”, “I’ll Make a Man Out of You”, “All I Ask of You”, “Bring Me To Life”, “My Immortal”, just to name a few. When you mentioned that it would be wonderful to have a responsive choir working with Dan for Amazing Grace, I suddenly thought that you might like to listen to Brandon Lake's newest song, "Count 'Em." He DOES have a small choir working with him on that one, and it's totally stupendous. Just look for "Brandon Lake - Count 'Em (Official Music Video)." It's so good! The song has only been out for two weeks, now, and it already has 499K views. It's Brandon's first actual rap, but he does a FABULOUS job with it. After I listened to it the first time, I went to AZ Lyrics and printed out the lyrics, so I could sing along with the last part (which is where "count 'em" comes in). My youngest daughter (my husband and I share ownership of a small hobby farm with her and her husband) has eight children (all together, we have six kids, 22 grands, and five great-grands), all of whom love music just as much as we do. Judi is one of the music leaders at our church. My almost 12-year old grandson listened all the way through, to Count 'Em, as Judi and I sang along, then turned to his mom and said, sternly, "I expect to hear THIS song at church next Sunday!" We just cracked up. She's already starting to learn all the words, though, because we both also really want to have the congregation hear it and join in, too. ;-)

Welcome to the amazing world of Dan Vasc, Dan is from Brazil. He is a Christian and a lot of his songs are Christian based. Dan is a RU-vid singer by choice. He was offered a contract years ago, but he decided that he did not want to have someone telling him what to sing, etc. Plus he did not like the monetary terms of the agreement. This way he is in total control of his songs and owns all of the rights to them.

How did I miss your reaction to Dan’s Amazing Grace until just now? Must have slipped through the cracks. Well, I’m happy to watch it today. I love everything about this version…everything…and I love seeing people react to seeing this for the first time. Dan Vasc is a Brazilian metal singer who has worked for years studying opera as well as metal vocals to be able to produce this sound. He has stated he is a Christian and put this out for Easter. As a believer you will want to check out his covers of "Angels We Have Heard On High" " Adeste Fideles" Handel's "Hallelujah" and also Roy Khan's "For All". Listen to his message at the end of "For All." He has some 240 videos, most of them secular in nature, showing his progression from very good to this amazing masterpiece.

Dan has several spiritually based songs he performs. When this song came up on my feed, I went to his page and saw that he does.The first song I listened to was Gethsemane,(Geth-sem-anee) the song of Christ's prayer to God in the garden, which is from the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. He portrays Jesus so realistically, how anyone who is even part human would feel when he knew what was going to happen to him, that it made me cry. All of his performances are given his utmost endeavor, whether it's his singing, writing variations of the music he is covering, the video production, it's all outstanding. Vasc is short for Vasconcelos. It is beautiful beyond words. His dad gave him that harmonica and he sang this song at his funeral. I have listened to Dan about 3 months now and everything he does is stellar. He had the best trainer in the world I believe and God gave him the voice of an Angel. I do not agree with a chior behind him but maybe a full blown orchestra. I love all he does, but I have to listen to his version of Amazing Grace everyday or I’m lost 😊 So much power and emotion on an epic scale ❤❤❤❤

Stellar indeed! No, he's not mainstream. He & his band called Fearless have an album called Chronicles Of Ancient Wisdom. The title is a hint of the adventure that awaits the brave of heart. I found it on Spotify and play it almost every day. Have fun jumping into rabbit hole.
