Personally I get a little frustrated by people who insist that a trip down the Dimash rabbit hole always has to start with his "showstopper" songs. It's this that leads to the frequent comments that he's nothing but a circus act or a one trick pony reliant on his high notes. I personally really enjoy a reactor who appreciates the dynamics and more low key songs for tonal qualities.
Please don't be discouraged by those that tell you "you picked the wrong video". They seem to forget that any exposure to Dimash is good and usually a gateway to other great videos. It's really funny because a very common reaction to Dimash is - "is he an alien?" It's so true, who else comes close to what he can do? Thanks for your fun reaction.

There are no wrong Dimash videos. Dimash has a wide diversity of songs - pop, rap, jazz, etc. Almost every song will surprise you with the range of his vocals and his amazing talent. Enjoy your Dimash journey.

Going to that song is not unique, and so don't worry about that, Sir. Don't listen to rude posts. Dimash doesn't condone such behavior and his real fans always try to be as polite as he is. You will be blown away, because every song is different even if it is the same song. He sings nearly every genre you can imagine, so if you don't like one (with to us is impossible) maybe the next one you will. He also speaks nearly every language his Dears speak. Hello, Dear, please correct your post. Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, conversational English, and some Mandarin. He sings in 15 languages, but he doesn’t speak in all the languages his Dears speak. ❤

G'day from Sydney. I must admit that Together isn't one of my favourites, but SOS is a good introduction. I'll leave it to others to recommend where to go next, but (and they NEVER believe this) you've barely scratched the surface of what this man can do. Maybe after 20-30 reactions you'll understand, but in the meantime read on. People often talk about his vocal range (lowest to highest pitch), where Dimash has no equal. But he brings a lot more to the table than that, including: * dynamics (incredibly soft to deafening); * genre (Operatic, Pop/Rock, Ballads, New Age, Kazakh traditional, and even Rap); and (as you heard) he can switch modes instantly within a song, and sometimes within a line; * emotional and story telling depth; * extreme musicality (multi-instrumentalist, composition and staging, makes every cover song unique to him); * mesmerising stage presence in live production, and acting skills in music videos; * breath control (regularly produces 15-30 secondnotes/runs); * plus absolute and perfect pitch. But that is not all. His talents also include: * each song seems to be chosen for a reason (musical, cultural, political) and delivered for best effect; * lyrics are often subtle and thought provoking, sometimes challenging, even heart-rending; * known for his charitable and activist (anti-war) efforts; * relentless hard work (3hr/day singing, plus physical conditioning for his 3 hour shows) and non-stop study and technique refinement (he has multiple degrees, including PhD in various aspects of music); * complete integrity (has pulled out of competitions for moral/cultural reasons, and will not sign with a major record company because he wants absolute freedom to pursue his own musical goals); * excellent live shows and impeccable production values in his MVs (which should always be watched, even if not reacted to); * when forced to lip-sync (as he sometimes is), he is so good that sometimes even professionals disagree on whether he is or not, he is simply a master entertainer who will deliver a stunning performance regardless of circumstances; * Igor Krutoy (a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger) came out of retirement just to work with him (and often plays piano for songs he composed), no contract (almost a father/son relationship); * while he could dominate most other singers, he never attempts to steal the limelight but suits his style to bring the best out of the piece, and his partner(s); * kindness, humility, thanks the band, wonderful with fans/Dears, quirky humor, loves his family, his country. and its music. WELL, too good to be true you'd think, but other commenters will I believe back me up on every point. Dimash is an example of someone born with tremendous physical and mental gifts, who has worked for decades to refine his gifts, and who has surrounded himself with a crack team of musicians and business people to maximise his impact. I do not expect to see his like again in my lifetime.

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer) RU-vid channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Each performance will leave you stunned. Thank you for reacting to our Dimash from a loyal "Dear" (fandom name given to us by Dimash, because we are dear to him like his family). You’re on the right track. No one should be telling you that you chose the wrong video. While this isn’t my favorite version of the song but it’s still Dimash. He does it in different performances seemingly changing the way he sings the song as he progresses in his vocal techniques. It is so difficult to sing on your knees. I’ve seen him rehearse the same way. He said that it was the best way to rehearse. He’s right.

You could not go wrong even if you had picked "Stranger". Both songs are amazing. Then again, I could say the same thing if you had picked Adagio, the Show Must Go On, Olympico, All By Myself, Sinful Passion, Love Is Like A Dream, Ikanaide, Unforgettable Day, Know, Autumn Strong, or Confessa/Diva Dance. I think you get the picture. Alien is a term everyone uses when referring to Dimash. I simply refer to it as a result of beginning music school at the age of five, continuing his music education, and getting his Ph.D. in music composition. He stated that since he was 2, he has never wanted to do anything in life but sing. Even with this incredible indescribably amazing voice, he still does vocal training for 3-5 hours a day every day. I didn't know which video you picked last time but, for me, there is no "wrong video" for every video from Dimash is incredible. I have never ever been disappointed by any!!!😊❤
his voice has been professionally trained since he was 5, and he works at it every day. I think also, it's been said that his vocal cords are a bit longer than usual. And, his mother is an operatic soprano, so he's heard music since before he took his first breath.

Hello! I will have to check your first reaction, but there is no right or wrong song to hear Dimash. There is no need to apologize. I love all of his songs. Each one presents yet something unique in his immense vocal and interpretive talent. I gathered you listened to “Together” the last time. I, personally, love the song. It has a great message, plus Dimash illustrates what a King of Dynamics he is. He doesn’t sing all his songs with vocal acrobatics. His main goal is to tell a story. So, he would choose specific vocal tools and techniques to do just that. Looking forward to more Dimash reactions.
Hey don’t pay attention to any of the negative comments, and Dimash will keep surprising you. I’m glad you liked his talents even without so much of the fireworks. And when it comes to the “World’s Best” show in LA, it was a terrible production, they clipped & cut his performances down to often only the “big” notes. His magic is in the big & the quiet ones. You need to see Sinful Passion from New Wave 2018, Stranger from New Wave 2021, & a million others. Stranger does have more copyright issues that most of Dimash’s, so just blur or whatever you need to do :) Welcome to the rabbit hole!!

Dimash sings from classical to rap, he is full of surprises, have a good swim in this vast ocean of pleasures. Do you remember the Diva song from The Fifth Element, a movie with Bruce Willis? In this film, the song of the alien Diva was made half with the voice of an opera singer, and half synthesized on a computer to show an alien voice so that human capabilities could not cover the range and jumps of this song, and so: Dimash sang it calmly, which proves that Dimash is an alien. When I heard Dimash sing, I thought that he was not human. When I heard what he said in an interview, I realized that Dimash is more of a human than all of us.

Still just the tip of the iceberg. When you think he can not surprise you... he will do it all over again. It may be that he will do something out of the norm, like pop, rock, rap, jump on the drums, or one of the other various instruments he plays just to throw you off. A fan favorite is a Kazakh song called Samaltau. Do it from the 2021 digital show. No real acrobatics but the traditional instruments etc will still give you goose bumps. Ikanaide which is in Japanese and in a studio... unbelievable. Power Rangers theme song... no problem.
