I enjoyed our little Home Free listening party too! I love the way you watch their videos so intently. Austin also wrote the last song Remember My Name! I really love to sing along to that one with the volume up. Austin is a great songwriter…he has 8 writing credits on the So Long Dixie album!
Thanks for doing 3 songs by Home Free. "The Horses" is a beautiful song! I had never heard it before. Nice to be introduced to 2 Australian singers Travis Collins & Amy Sheppard. Home Free does a great collaboration as always. "Playing With Fire" is a great original song! Rob & Austin do a nice job taking lead on this. Love the guys harmonies, Tim's bass & Adam's awesome vocal percussion. Also really like the video with the fire & the dancers. "Remember My Name is another great original song! Love the nostalgic feel of this song & the video. They mention a few of the country greats in this song. Also think it is a nod to the great baseball legend Babe Ruth. Austin sings about Willie (Nelson) at one point. Think his braids are an homage to Willie. Love Tim's lower tone in the verse he sings. And Adam is awesome as usual. These guys are so talented & in a league by themselves.
Yes, that was a nod to Willie Nelson. Loved the Horses which they shot when they were touring in Australia this past spring. They collaborated with Travis Collins and Amy Sheppard who are Aussie stars. It’s a big song over there (kind of like Sweet Caroline over here). Austin wrote both Playing with Fire and Remember My Name and the little boy was supposed to be Babe Ruth who used to point to where he would hit the ball. He as a huge star here in the states back in the 30’s. Home Free is going to tour in Europe soon. I think they were in Canada already? Hope you can go. 🥰😍

“The Horses” was written by Americans Rickie Lee Jones and Walter Becker and was on the Jerry Maguire soundtrack. But a cover released in Australian over 25 years ago struck a chord and was a big hit. This is homage to that. I didn’t know Amy before this, but I’ve been checking her out in the Australian indie pop band Sheppard. (“Kiss My Fat A$$” is fun) And she’s doing some solo country work, and moving to Nashville for a bit.

That was so much fun. I am a Home Fry and have been enjoying your reactions to them for some time now. You really get into the emotions of their music whether it is happy, sad, solemn or just plain goofy and fun. Music is suppose to speak to us on that deep level and stir our emotions and passions. That is why I love their music and love to watch as you share your reactions to them. i believe they do take their tour to Canada some times. Hope they do again soon and you get to see them perform in person. That would be so cool. See you next time.

Austin’s video for “Georgia On My Mind” was filmed when they were on tour in Canada in 2022. I recognize Niagara Falls and the coast near Vancouver. They played London in April 2022. They were just north of Detroit for the Christmas tour last December 2022.
Miss Ashley, what a treat....a triple dose of Home Free but also of you Missy :) Missed you a LOT !!! All three are terrific but my favorite is "Playing with Fire" what a sultry and sexy song and that video with the fire dancers....simple yet PERFECTION !!!
Amy & Travis sound incredible with Home Free! There's a kind of irony in Adam beatboxing in front of a bunch of snare drums! Playing with Fire is a song to cuddle up to with your partner - the fire dancers are incredible. Remember my Name includes the names & songs of country artists (Austin's braids are a nod to Willie Nelson). The boys playing baseball reference Babe Ruth & their scenes are even sepia toned to reflect the era.
This video should be mandatory for every Home Fry. I love the harmony. My favorite was the last video, Remember my Name. The kid pulled a "Roy Hobbs" and knocked the cover off the baseball. How cool was that? Awesome job, Ashley. That's why I look forward to your videos. FYI: Home Free has been to London before. They tend to have a Canadian tour every couple of years.
I've missed your Home Free reactions. Thanks for doing these. The Horses is so much fun and was a great introduction to 2 great Australian singers. Playing With Fire is one of their few PG-rated songs, but the musicality is incredible. Did you see the guys messing with the candles in the background at the end? Remember My Name is a great encouragement to reach your potential. The years they mention are a couple of years before each artist really got famous. I think the video is referring to Babe Ruth before he was famous.

Great 'triple play' reaction! Always enjoy how emotionally invested you get (in a good way!) with HF's videos. These certainly show their versatility. We've now seen the last of the videos for their 'So Long Dixie' album, therefore, anything they release, now, will be brand new! (We're all waiting on their official video for 'Skull and Bones.) Hoping we might see Rob and Chance getting a chance to take the lead on some of what's to come.

They are touring the UK currently. I live in Texas, but my daughter lives in Birmingham, UK. I shared some HF videos with her and she bought tickets for their show in Birmingham on the 29th. She then called us and told us to get over there for the concert.😊😊😊😊I immediately got online and bought tickets. I hope you get a chance to see them yourself. Thanks for the reaction.
His braids are a nod to Willie Neilson I been wanting them to come to Canada to.The last time time they were in Toronto it was to far for me to go and expensive I don’t drive so train and hotel so expensive.

Such good choices! I especially love Remember My Name. Every time I hear it I end up with it stuck in my head for weeks! I have to admit that I didn't really pay attention to Playing With Fire when it first came out, but I'm glad I watched it here. Your reactions are always so genuine that it makes my watching experience that much better. And when else have we seen Adam with his hair down?! I couldn't quite take it in when I noticed, but yeah, not pulled back at all! And then when everyone else was talking in the outro he's over there playing in the torch! smh LOL Great reaction.
