Yes! Finally someone acknowledging how good Kelly is at blending her mixed and chest voices. They are seamless. I think she has improved this with age. I know that many women find a new space in their voice when they are in their late 30’s and I think Kelly did - it made her sing more effortlessly now that she is in her 40’s. I found more strength in my mixed voice around age 36 (it was truly shocking, but I had a vocal coach tell me that could happen when I was younger, so I knew what it was). I recently discovered, while singing this very song, that I may be able to use that same space to improve my belting range, but I’m afraid to damage my voice (or my jaw - I had a different vocal coach once who decided he was going to turn me into a belter like Barbra or Linda Eder and I dislocated my jaw 😳). Anyway, Kelly is the best! I love Demi’s version because it’s her story and she was so vulnerable singing it live for us, but Kelly is a better vocalist. Her belting is limitless and she makes it look so easy. She truly can sing anything. I wish she would do full versions of all of her Kellyokes. I know she put out an EP of a few, but I can’t recall if they were longer versions. I could listen to her all day 💕.
she is a master class every time she sings anything. The first version that Demi sang obviously had a lot of emotion attached for all of her fans and for her since it was written before the overdose and performed after. And she is normally a great belter but in that case she was screaming which fits. Kelly's version is just as painful but pulled back. Her talent is out of this world. And a lot of people don't realize that any lower registers are difficult for her she is a very strong soprano but she still nails lower registers. And her chest voice or mixed voice is so powerful. But of course so is her head voice. Have you seen her sing with Josh Groban. Is mind blowing
I love your intro btw! You word it so perfectly! This is a reaction video so you’re going to react obviously but some ppl will gripe about it. I think it’s a great intro to your videos❤ love this song & this cover from her! So beautiful! She kept it very similar to Demi’s version from the Grammys, which I think was perfect bc it’s such a great arrangement 🌞 ☀️ ⛅️
That is the perfect description. Hege hope you don’t mind that that has now been included in my list of ways to describe Kelly! Credit to you of course
Good to see you back. The other commenters are so on point when it comes to Kelly. She could sing the phone book and rip my heart out. I love the way you break it down for plebians like me and also others with more awareness of the craft. I am glad your community keeps feeding you videos worthy of your commentary.
Kelly's version is pretty similar to the Demi Lovato performance, accompanied by piano, at the Grammys. I found the emotional intensity of both enjoyable. They each have distinct strengths, as does the song itself. Kelly's pianist is her musical director, Jason Halbert, who has been there from the start of her career. She credits their partnership for her success. They are doing some great work and having a lot of fun arranging these Kellyoke songs. I would love to see your reaction to "The Dance" that she sang for Garth Brooks at the Kennedy Center. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i7oNtRD1sBg.html It is sort of like you singing in Norwegian, because Kelly is singing in Texan. I mean she draws on the country music influences she grew up with and a little bit of her Texas accent for another stunning performance that fits the moment. 🌄
Amazing reaction my friend Hege!!...I have seen your reactions to Dimash, the best male singer of the world (In my personal opinion)...Now I want to invite you to meet, who is considered the Fourth All Time Vocal Trinity (with Whitney, Mariah and Celine) and one of the Best Female Singers of the World...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable, the Goddess: Lara Fabian...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control...She speaks and composes in 5 languages and sings in more than 15 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see covers of her songs on RU-vid made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Forestella, Julie Anne San Jose, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Giulia Falcone, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Rimar, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eHSyk4SGtuY.html
Thank you for the recommendation :) I know about Lara yes, she's spectacular, so you're not the first to recommend her to me, and I'm sure not the last either :)
@@HegeOfficial Thank you Hege for responding my comment...Well, I am glad you know Lara's work...She is one of the best ever...I hope you react to her in the future...Take care of yourself!!
☀️☀️Nice reaction!!! If you want to hear the airy sound of her voice, please react to her performance of Up to the mountain on idols give back. It's almost like there's her voice and a whisper of her voice simultaneously. Crazy good.
She did a live version on Jimmy Fallon that’s even better, but I’ve never found the actual video online. I just remember watching it when it aired. She wore a black and silver shiny dress. 😩
🌞⭐️😎 Kelly AND you shine so bright and beautifully, Hege! Terrific analysis of a magnificent performance❣️Your reaction videos are so lovely to watch. What’s one of YOUR favorite songs to cover? Hoping to see more of your own performance videos too, sprinkled in with your always-good reaction videos. Subscribers, are you with me on this request? 🙂
You are the sweetest! 💕 Thank you so much! Oh and I couldn’t pick a favorite if I tried, but I do have a list of covers I’d like to do in the future ☺️
Yeeeees, another Kelly reaction! She totally nailed this song so well, and I can sense the emotions she has been through in her life in this song. ☀☀ At 5:56 that was way too technical. 😛My brain literally lost you completely. Are you talking about medical stuff? 🤣
Hey can you please react to kelly clarkson cover of billie eilish happier than ever and love your videos and also demi lovato skin of my teeth and substance
Hii :) Thanks for the recommendations! I’ve been avoiding Demi’s new song on social media so I can react to it if anybody asked :). I know they’ve already performed it live on Jimmy Fallon, so I can’t wait to check that out.
