Reaction - Liliac - Piece of My Heart - JANIS JOPLIN LIVES!! 

I'm an old Joplin fan and I have to say that was absolutely wonderful. I am liking this group a lot.

Melody's voice is truly one of a kind. This was fire!!

On her best day, Janice Joplin , couldn't sing this cover of a Erma Franklin's original song as well as a 17yr old Melody .I'm old enough to have seen two live joplin cover performances of this song , and she was intoxicated both times . . My fellow Fangs will have enlightened you on the draconian contract that they were expected to sign to enable them to continue on AGT which is why they are fiercely independent . There is a 57second clip of their AGT performance which shows the enthusiasm in which they were judged , check it out its worth seeing . You've now reacted to two tribute cover's, check out their performance of their original song MARS from the same concert as this one you will see, that yes , Melody , is the front woman , but there's a whole lot more to the rest of the family , they are all super talented a fact that will become blatantly obvious the more you react to them , a terrific reaction keep them coming FANG4LIFE RORH

This concert was known as "Hair at the Fair" and this is one of 3 songs they later released as OMV......A Queen Tribute, and their Original "Mars"....

This is a great performance of this song no doubt. I like that we can hear Sam's back up vocals more in this song than most of their other stuff. Looks like you've only reacted to three Liliac songs, so much more to go. Of note, The original version of "Piece of My Heart" was recorded by Erma Franklin (Aretha Franklin's older sister) prior to Janice Joplin. Enjoy! Fang4Life! RO&RH! 🤘😎🤘

Hello my young friend. MeloDia is not Janice, however she puts in all the right inflections that give you that vibe. I used to, as a teen, catch all the shows that had rockin roll talent in early 70s. Michael Douglas, Dick Cavat etc. I loved Janice and her band back then. Let me say that Sam gives you that vibe with his backing vocals. As for AGT. I used to watch that show. I love Circus Acts and Geek acts etc. The kids speak fondly about the World's Best show. That's when I first heard them do Rainbow in the Dark. It helped, along with their Chain of Thorns EP, launched their first tour in 2019. It's when Papa Liliac was all in with promoting Liliac. Scary thought living in a 3 bedroom apt in Downey California. MeloDia is 17 here I believe. This is from that tour. AGT was hounding them to be on the show. It took awhile for Papa Liliac and the kids to speak out about AGT. When they spoke about the first performance, they would say the audience was fantastic, they loved us etc. They were treated well on the set of the World's Best. MeloDia has said they were not on AGT. Covid started up after the first performance. The options given was to livestream. They already paid a fine for doing a livestream in their apartment in Downey. Then they were told that to move forward they would have to sign a contract. Papa Liliac took it to a lawyer he knew and it was not a good deal. They are fully independent and for now that's what they will remain to be. So I can sit down and listen to this picturing myself laying on the living room rug watching Janice and her band on my TV at 13. Nice reaction. Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. FANG 4 LIFE! RORH 🍻🌹♥️🤘🦇

This song was a cover for Janis Joplin. The original song was a ERMA FRANKLIN 1967 HIT.. ARETHA FRANKLIN older sister..yep sure was

They also do a cover of Jefferson Airplanes "Somebody To Love" that will blow your mine. It was originally written by "Darby Slick" brother -in-law of Grace Slick for "Erema Franklin" Then Grace picked it up in her first band then Jan Joplin did it them Grace picked it back up when she joined Jefferson Airplane and now Liliac. Darby Slick has since seen the video they did of it and commented on it. He very much liked it.

You should hear her sing Jefferson Airplane’s Somebody to love and she is even younger in that video than she is in this video. She has such an amazing voice! In there original song/video Dear Father she even has an operatic moment in the song! And if you want to hear Sam’s great voice watch their original video Somber Cry! YES THEY WHERE ON AMERICA GOT TALENT BUT NOT FOR TO LONG THEY LEFT IT DO TO WHAT THE SHOW TRIED TO DO THEM ALSO THEY WERE ON WORLDS BEST TO SHOW !!.

They did go on AGT. When they made the semi finals they were told to go further that they would have to sign a contract stating that if they won Liliac would get 1%, yes 1%, for a 5 year deal. Papa Liliac, the smart music producer that he is, pulled them out. Absolutely loved how blown away you were when you started watching this! In my opinion, everything that Liliac has done is amazing. Covers and originals! You can't go wrong with any of their songs!❤🦇💯🔥🤘 Edit: You are right! Janis would be proud! Another late great artist that would be proud is Ronnie James Dio. In fact Wendy Dio asked Liliac to perform Last in Line for the Dio Cancer Fund and Vinny Appice gave them an unreleased version to do. They had one week to put it together and they nailed it!!!!

You might want to check out “I hate myself for loving you” where she channels her inner Joan Jett, and their cover of Holy Diver where it sounds like Ronnie James Dio took over her vocal cords. Their hair was quite long until around the time they went on tour in India. Melody and Sam donated their hair to Locks of Love that makes wigs for cancer patients who’ve lost theirs due to chemotherapy. They do a lot of auctions, etc for cancer research because they have a friend who’s battling it. If you check out their recent videos, such as “Madness”, you’ll see Melody is growing hers out again. ❤️🦇

They dropped put of AGT very early in the compitition. Their Dad had schedule d a big gig of them and they couldn't do both Apparently. So no they did win.

If Janice Joplin were alive today and saw this performance, she wouldn't be proud, she'd be jealous.

America got talent and worlds greatest talent, they were on both shows. No they didn't win, it was at the beginning of covid , and they would've had to play to a laptop not a live audience for the next step and they didn't want that. Also, they were offered a terrible contract where they would only get 1% back and the refused and that's why they are still independent and fan supported.

They did AGT and they brought their lawyer GT wanted them to sign a contract signing over 99% of the royalties leaving them one percent their lawyer said it was a bad deal so they didn’t sign it so they didn’t go on in the competition. Though they probably would’ve won.

It sounds like her vocal fry is an artistic choice, unlike Janice's which sounded great, but also had the vibe of extremely awful lifestyle choices. Janice also had her issues with the record industry, if I recall correctly. In the age of youtube, LIliac has the oppotunity to blaze their own trail.
