Tuomas Holopainen is a full-on, gold plated, unequivocal, musical genius...and would have been in any era or any genre of music.IMHO

Floor uses different vocal techniques to make it sound like she’s telling a story or conveying emotions. She talked about using different dynamics and different colors of her voice so that it doesn’t sound flat. It’s a conscious choice on her part. She’s an incredible storyteller. You can just feel everything when she sings.

The fluteguy is Troy and he can play any instrument he wants.

The amazing part was actually being there and hearing the crowd actually sing louder than she was during this song. Most unforgettable show I've ever been to.

The guy with the flute (Troy Donockley from UK ) was playing a low whistle and plays various other instruments on various songs including Irish (Uilleann) bagpipes, bouzouki, guitar etc etc.

The best thing about falling in love with The Goddess is that you can listen to her in Nightwish , then you can check her out in her First Band After Forever, then her 2nd Band Revamp ( they both kick ass , especially After Forever) then watch her on Beste Zangers , plus she did some incredible cover songs during the pandemic. So theres no shortage of Her , shes all over you tube .

Tom. This is the "hitsong" by Nightwish. I like you are getting infected by Nightwish. Floor is a Dutch singer in a Finnish band. Check out Beste Zangers from the Netherlands. You'll see Floor singing and sung too.

'The flute guy' is perhaps one of the most talented members of the band. Troy Donockley plays several different types of guitar, flute, pipes, and Ullieann pipes, to name a few. He also has helped compose a number of Nightwish songs, and has co-produced, sung and played on a project called Auri, with Tuomas, and his wife Johanna, who sings. And he is a thoroughly decent, down-to-earth guy, who has slotted into Nightwish just as easily as Floor. In fact, you sense he has become like an 'uncle' figure to the rest of the band. He and Tuomas are extremely close friends. You pick up on what I believe is a significant reason Nightwish are so successful (apart from Floor's stunning looks and vocals!), namely their obvious enjoyment of what they do. The vibe between all the members is lovely to see. Floor calls the band members her 'brothers in arms', and it's easy to see why. Oh, and they are infectious, with no known cure! ;-) Great reaction...subbed. :-) Boy, have you a journey ahead of you. Buckle up, it's gonna be a blast!

If you want to see them live, you're (sort of) in luck. In just about 3 weeks there will be a virtual concert, the first time they will play live (even though not to a live audience) their latest album from last year, Human Nature. You can find details on their website. I have my ticket. :)

Since you liked the flute, the low whistle, I suggest you react to Nightwish "I want my Tears Back", so you'll hear some more of the Nightwish multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley, he is from the UK. What instrument he plays in that one? Not going to tell. You will be surprised! But now you have a tough choise to make. Is it going to be the Wacken 2013 or the Buenos Aires 2018 version. (The title of the video says 2019). I slightly prefer the BA version - the Argentinian crowd is one of the best. Greetings from Finland! The 'man with the flute' is the 6th member of the band which was not heared in every song: Troy Donockley from UK. To hear in "I want my tears back", "last of the wilds" and especially "Harvest" " on the last Album Human .//. nature. Band part member since 2007, full time member since 2013. Plays : Flute, Ullean Pipes, Guitar, Bouzouki, Organ, Mandola and, and, and... background voice too!

I have tickets and will be at the October 5th 2021 concert in NYC. If I could afford it, I would be at both of the two concerts in LA, California also, but alas, times are tuff(nuts).

Both Tuomas and Floor have said that they are "high sensitives". They are in fact empaths, and that is not an easy existence for anyone so cursed and blessed. You feel the best and the worst of everything/everyone unless you develop a strong enough filter. This is one of the things that make Tuomas' compositions so hard-hitting, so epic. Now Floor - Floor is a world-class, high function, full duplex empath. THAT's how she sings her self, her heart and her soul right into ours, and she does it whether it's a live performance or not. This is her super power. The audience is hers every time she performs. If she does not make you cry, if she does not give you chills and goosebumps, then you have no soul. Floor and Nightwish light you up in the best possible way. Few others do, and it's obvious.

Tuomas the keyboardist and main composer writes his lyrics like poetry and is very big on storytelling. Floor's Musical Theater training allows her to use her body movements facial expressions and vocal tones to bring his stories to life. many reactors have heard Trans Siberian Orchestra overtones in Nightwish music. This one was one of Nightwish' big European hits from 2004. This is beautiful and happy metal. However there are some darker songs. More uplifting and positive. See you soon hopefully! Be well.

You should most definitely check out the original version with the first singer Tarja Turunen. Floor is great but this is really Tarja’s song. Check out the official music video in this case. Finland says hi.

Outside of Symphonic Metal the only bands I can think of off the top of my head that used the flute and other non-traditional instruments (for Rock/Metal bands) was Jethro Tull and possibly Electric Light Orchestra. I am sure there are others I am just not thinking of, but that is off the top of my head the ones that spring to mind. On the subject of this song.....Floor sings it extremely well, but being completely honest I actually like Tarja's voice on this one just a little bit more, and that is not taking anything away from Floor because there are some of the older songs that I prefer her voice on more.

And yes....they are very very good storytellers...it is not only the Queen mesmerizing you....it is the composition of Metal Mozart Tuomas...the complete Band consists of absolutely talented musicians.....and always remember...Nemo is one of the Radio-compatible songs.....Please give the original version of this one with Tarja also a chance...without her these great songs would not be there for Floor.... Stick to Wacken 2013 - There is no bad song on this concert. Not one. Trust the Army.... All Hail the Queen !

Exactly the Trans Siberian Orchestra, only they miss the incredible compositions of Tuomas, the incredible voice of Floor, the incredible singing and bass playing of Marco, the sometimes subtle and sometimes heavy guitar of Emppu and the unmatched drumming if Jukka and Kai. In fact there's not much left for them, sorry.

well, if this is overwhelming, then you need to listen more songs, before you try their Masterpieces like "Greatest Show on Earth (in Tampere)" or "The poet and the pendulum", you would get a heart attack. you need to steel yourself.
