7:23 Agree Ben! I'm ambivalent about AJ Preller's overall tenure as the Padres GM and am sometimes surprised he is STILL here. Regardless of that, you're correct. Despite having to significantly reduce payroll he has built a solid team this season with quality veterans coming off the bench. 2024 is only the 5th time in franchise history the Padres have achieved 90+ wins, and like you said they were 50-50 at one point. It feels great being excited about October!

I beg to differ; the Padres just secured the 4th seed in the NL Playoff tournament. Ha-Seong Kim played 121 games for the Padres this season, most at shortstop since Xander Bogaerts was OUT. If the Padres hadn't had either X or HSK it would have created a problem at SS.

Poor kim, going to be heard to get a good pay day for him next year. He might get a proving contract next year. He's more than likely going to reject his 8 million dollar option next year.

Agree! The Padres picking up that 8M option is a "no brainer", but highly doubtful Ha-Seong Kim will accept it. We may have seen the last of HSK in a Padres uniform due to payroll constraints. He will be missed.....

Noooooo!!! Kim this team may not benefit from your struggling bat but they sure as hell need your glove! I cant handle another Xander error at SS. Please Preller please bring him back. Lackluster year caused his value to go down a bit. Definitely affordable

He's a free agent unless they mutually agree to 2025. They likely will keep him given the low salary for his elite defense unless they can find a better bat during the off-season.
