Hannes Van Dahl, Floor's husband and current drummer stepped in 2014, having acted as drum technician before. By the way from the Woodstock 2012 concert you may like also 40:1, even just for the croud rection. Like "Uprising" talks about Poland during WWII and the concert was held in Poland. :)
The drummer isnt Daniel Mulback, but Robban Back. This is from after they split up. Before Hannes joint the band, the drummer was Snowy Shaw. Hannes was his drumtec.
I always get chills when they sing "Warzawa Rise!" and 500 000 people sing along! As a former military man you may enjoy their songs. Every song is a story about a battle, a hero or a nearly forgotten event in one of the many wars we have seen across history. They are very well researched and have, as someone else wrote, an entire channel called Sabaton History dedicated to the history behind their songs. While enjoying good heavy metal you're learning...something for the schools to take heed...hehe.

They never take anyones side and act like neutral historians. All that matters is the true historic event, military unit or person. Their songs are based off of extensive research which is just fascinating there are not many bands out there that do what sabaton does...... And by the way they also have a behind the scenes series there's a bunch of episodes and they are just awesome! They are so down to earth and so funny.....

Unbelievable performance. A concert in Poland with a song about the uprising against the nazi's in Warsaw in 1944 which has an enormous meaning for the Polish people. And still as you can see from the reaction of this crowd. This song is almost equal to a national anthem. I'm not even Polish but i still feel the emotion attached to it. I know the historical facts and have seen some movies wherein this subject passes. I can only say that this is a massive concert. Welcome to the ride through the Sabaton worm hole! I think you'll like it here! Sabaton has been around since 1999 and released their first studio album, Primo Victoria around 2005. All of their songs are about military history. (Apart from the the album Metalizer which was written before Primo Victoria but wasn't released until a few years after it was written.) The stories they tell cover everything from ancient greece to the very end of the 1900s. They are a truly unique band in the way they let their music tell stories from the past. Both the heroic moments that will make you feel proud no matter which nationality you belong to, to the darkest and most shameful parts of history that needs to be remembered no matter how difficult it may be. Sometime, a song can be written from a certain perspective to better tell the story but the band never take sides and their songs doesn't contain any political or religious messages, they just tell the stories. The other thing is that their songs make you feeling proud being Polish (even if you're Swedish...😁 Or from somewhere else), Russian, Scottish... They've made songs about historic events or heroism from many countries. I'd suggest you check out Sabaton's "Bismarck" (official music video), "No bullets fly"(animated story video) and "Lion from the North" (official music video). Some Swedish history on the last one, but the footage is from the European Great Tour 2019/2020. Great reaction btw!🤘

If you check out Night Witches or No bullets fly, make sure to pick the videos that say "Animated Story Vide". :D The story part of the title is the important bit since Night Witches also has an animated music video, but the Animated Story Video is the absolute best one. Also, you may want to bring tissues.
Ok, never listened to Sabaton before ( I`m a Floor Jansen fan) but that`s not Hannes on drums....maybe he joined the band a little later. Reminds me a lot of Rammstein from Germany..... also worth checking out...... great show, lots of pyro and very tight sound.
Hannes joined Sabaton in 2013 and his other band was Evergrey. Evergrey also has a song ft. Floor and if u look closely you can probably see a baby bump. The song is called In Orbit. This is before Hannes.

So many say all sabatons songs are about war and history. But it isnt. Anyway, you got 20 years of sabaton to catch up on. And some dont know what the word sabaton is, its a knights steel boots, a sabaton. If you look up the song "Shadows" and tell me when the history in that is, well history, more of a film called lord of the rings. Keep sabaton coming. You got ALOT of songs to cover 😁

Sorry, but this is a second-rate band. Yeah, for history buffs, sort of interesting, but compared with Rammstein, Nightwish (Sabaton's drummer is married to Nightwish' s lead singer), Tool, Slipknot, Queensryche, or just about any other decent metal band, their songwriting is primitive and they are amateurs on their instruments. Just being honest.
