Love that you checked out Skillet, they are even more awesome live. Yes they are a Christian rock group and every song they sing is to glorify God, but they aren't shoving it down peoples throats. I love love love how the lead singer "John Cooper" proposed to his wife "Korey" (the female guitarist), he took her down to the lake, pulled her shoes off and washed her feet pledging to be her servant like Jesus did to the disciples at the "Last Supper", HOW ROMANTIC IS THAT!?! But it's true you have to check out "Hero", "Monster", & "Whispers In The Dark".

I've been a Skillet fan since Alien Youth in 01'... I first heard them via the Christian Rock genre back when it was still my religion etc...over 15 years later and I'm still a fan regardless of a change of beliefs because there's something real about their music that surpasses religion. I'm glad you gave them a reaction, not enough love for them out there!

It's the purge you're right, he said which movie has them wearing mask and GOING OUT killing people. Strangers takes place in a house and they are focused on one family.

YOOO. I had forgotten about Skillet! Thank you so much for reminding me! Check out their song “Monster” and “Lucy”! “Lucy” is pretty sad, not gonna lie, but it’s a great song. Some background on Skillet: they’re a Christian band, and this song is about how the band feels about their relationship with God. Never say Christians can’t rock out. Also, I’m not sure about the movie, but the mask is a witch doctor’s mask from medieval times.

When I first heard Skillet I couldn't help but seek out all they had. Many of their songs are still in my favorites lists to this day. You can't go wrong checking out their content. I would recommend it highly.

Incredible band. My friend told me a story of getting to go backstage at one of their concerts and in a a quiet area he heard what sounded like prayer going on behind a closed door. When the door finally opened it was Skillet band members living out their faith not by shoving it down people's throats but by going to a quiet place and honoring God. They could easily sacrifice God and be huge rock stars but that isn't important to them. If you are really struggling, cry out to God and listen to "The Last Night" by Skillet and know you are NOT alone.

When I was just getting into heavy music back in 2014, Skillet was my shit! Monster is their best and probably heaviest song. Hero, Not gonna die tonight, Rise, Rebirthing, Circus for a psycho, and Comatose are also really good. Lucy is a chill song, but has such a powerful message. It's about a guy regretting an abortion that he and his lady chose to have, and the baby they never had.

Always liked this band. They transcend their genre as a Christian band. Yes all of their songs are religious but it's honestly just really hype music if you can get behind the message and not quibble over words.
