They’re amazing live, but their music is so complex that you can’t really fully enjoy it live, in my opinion. The mix is just never quite there. In studio, where the mix is perfectly balanced, they really shine! Tom Monda is the guitarist and band leader. One of the most skilled guitarists I’ve ever seen!

That song is old but it is on the greatest album ever recorded. They just announced a tour with Between the Buried and Me.

My son is a musician but sax player mostly. This reminds me of the SKA band he was part of late in high school. I went to some his gigs and it was good...

All three of their albums are excellent. Often lots of rapid changes in the music, much like the lineup.

I def had the opening riff and the chorus in my head after my first listen. So some parts stuck right off the bat.

😀 First time I heard this song the first words were “why does this sound like Michael Jackson?” Lol. No clue on members other than the knowing the guitar player and singer have been in the band since I found them. Most of the live shows I’ve seen have been smaller clubs and filmed on potatoes so that is why I chose this “official” live version. the studio version has slightly different solos as I suppose it was different players. Not sure. They have a decent social media presence and had a pretty big marketing campaign before their release after this album. It went well. I think for them to be bigger, you hit the nail on their head about what they should do. They have heavier music (especially on albums after this one) and they even have full blown jazz songs with no vocals. Maybe a passion project but whatever it is, I enjoy their music as it’s different enough from other stuff I listen to. Of course, as I say that, your reactions have introduced me to bands that include horns and strings and can be considered rock so I know this wasn’t the first time. Hell, Frank Zappa did this a million years ago! Glad you enjoyed. This was one I was not too sure about.
