LaPorta and Jack Campbell are friends and were roommates, happy to have em both to add more chemistry to the overall team. Sucks losing the Okwaras, even if they didn't produce very much.

Bad Bears take. Wright was one of the best right tackles in the NFL as a rookie. It was also the correct decision to take him and an extra pick over Carter. Dexter was one of the best rookie DT’s last year, and Stevenson was arguably the best rookie CB.

Jack Campbell will be just fine. Not all rookies break records their first season. Jack LEADNED a lot this year and the Lions learned a lot about him using him in different ways. The kid is gonna be alright

Any chance you could pull a video together on retrospective QB grades from last year and how the top QBs in 2024 compare? I’m just looking for reasons to get hype for Caleb, but want to see what was said about Bryce last year; how’s Caleb different, etc…

just fyi, campbell coverage wasnt great, but he was getting consistently better in the run defense and became a big part of why lions run defense was elite until basically the second half of the 9ers game. It feels like Campbell is treated like a mediocre guy, but the dude was pretty good for the lions as a rookie, he just happened to be in a class where the other 3 selections were all performing like top players in the nfl.

His Coverage was terrible, he was targeted 31 times and allowed a 80 completion % 128.2 passer rating, don't get me wrong i like campbell he just has to prove the ppl that call him mediocre wrong.

I'm a Packers fan and the middle-end of the Draft really helped us out. Reed in the 2nd was a big hit and Wicks in the 5th is a huge hit. Musgrave in the 2nd was playing very well but got injured and Kraft in the 3rd looks to be a hit. Wooden in the 4th and Brooks in the 6th are both giving us good snaps as rotational players. Valentine in the 7th was also a major contributor for us. You're right that Van Ness has flashed, but the Packers develop players slowly and he has a ways to go before being a hit. Clifford is going to take time, although he has flashed, but not nearly enough to say he has been a hit. Carlson had a bad Rookie season, but I think it's too early to call him a miss. Kickers often take time as they develop new methods to kick. I don't understand the take that Kickers aren't worth Draft picks, though. He's a 6th Rounder and Kickers win and lose games. If you like a guy, take him. I'm a big believer in drafting Special Teamers like Kickers and Punters. Anthony Johnson played a bunch of snaps, but I don't think he was very good so right now he's looking like a miss but could develop yet. Nichols and DuBose basically didn't get on the field. Overall, I don't think the Packers will have a bottom 7 Draft Class because Reed, Wicks, Musgrave, Kraft as starters and then Wooden, Brooks and Valentine for depth is already a good Draft. Throw in the potential of other picks like Van Ness and Carlson and you have a really solid Draft.

In as a Jets fan it's hard to defend their draft decisions. Will McDonald wasn't a bust but shouldn't have been drafted. The rest of their pick didn't turn out much better.

Packers hands down had the best draft last year. You were absolutely 100% wrong just admit it. The re-draft the pundits did put something like 5 of those players selected in the top 50.

The only thing was Lukas Van Ness wasn't a homerun pick, but he was still good for a rookie edge rusher.

I agree with your criticism about the RB value. The Lions ended up having a good Draft because they basically hit on every pick, and that's rare. Gibbs wasn't just good, he made the Pro Bowl. La Porta in the 2nd wasn't just good, he made the Pro Bowl. Brian Branch graded out very well by PFF. Now Jack Campbell isn't grading out that well, but we'll see what he does with time, but all those others hitting makes for a pretty good Draft. The only thing is what is going to happen to this roster long-term? I think it will fall apart because the lack of value on premium positions, because they won't keep hitting on this many picks. And despite this many really good hits, it didn't get them over the hump in the playoffs. On Robinson, I don't think the QB criticism is a fair one. There was no QB for Atlanta to take. They would've had to try a massive trade up and there's no guarantee anybody trades with them, but even if they do, Richardson was the only one they probably could've had a shot at, and he's not exactly the best prospect. I just don't get what the RB pick does for a team that is so far from being competitive. I don't have a problem with waiting on the QB, but at least take picks that will set up the QB you take in the future. My guess is they convinced themselves that Robinson was Alvin Kamara.

To be fair, every single person who did a “winners” or “losers” on an NFL draft anytime before waiting 3 years until after the draft is a loser. I understand you want to create content, but grading an NFL draft in that same offseason is an exercise in ignorance & speculation. ESPECIALLY if you’re not a very close follower of the team you’re judging.

The Jets draft was horrible. McDonald not a 1st round pick and they could’ve drafted Zay Flowers or Addison instead of a rotantional pass rusher on a loaded d-line, Tippman was a solid pick, Warren was rountinely abused by defenses, Barnes could’ve been drafted in the 7th or UDFA, Converse 7th or UDFA and the TE never saw the field and should’ve been a UDFA.
@johnlawson1167

The value in draft picks is that you get good players on very cheap contracts for 4 years. Obviously getting players extremely expensive positions in the draft gives you even more value. But what hangs people up is that not everyone in the draft is good. The most important thing about drafting players isn't their position it's whether or not they can play. That's why Brad Holmes over the course of the last 3 years has been the best drafter in the league, just draft good players.
