@@mohamedmaher-ut2ug Gnaoua is the music of all of Africa, not just Morocco, but Morocco stole it because of the festival you talked about and made it into UNESCO.

Aicha =Aisha ....Djamil means beautiful in masculin term This song is one of the deepest in Algerian heritage ...legendary ...representative of our roots...so magic (you should visit our desert and the country ...😊 Greetings from Algiers, capital of Algeria
This type of music and singing is spiritual. They sing about Allah and prophet Muhammad, I think it's called "gnaoui" I'm not sure about the spelling 😁, it is common in the south of Maghreb.
aytcha labggaa, you pronounce the "tch" she is a beautiful singer from bechar, south sahara in algeria, and djamil is a nice singer of reggae algerian style. and in this face to face as you've said they sing a song about God and the prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, thank you for sharing those kind of music of the world

Hi John. To be in the mood of this song better to take a look on the hoggar region in Algeria where this style was born. . You'll certainly understand the context of such spiritual inspiration.
Just did some research on the region. Interesting geography. Looks like a tough place to try to exist. I don't understand the lyrics so I can't make a connection between the two. I'll try to get a translation. Maybe I'll learn something. I never thought this youtube channel would lead to all this great information about a region of the world that I knew embarrassingly very little. Thank you for helping me discover it.
@@JohnCregoWorldMusic Well the lyrics have no connexion with the geography, This is a kind of "religious" song ... I'd say a rare "religious" song style where you can find singers who seem to be happy, as you noticed ;)
The song is not just Algerian it is by and about the African Ghoomari and Gnawa (the Ghoomari clan of Masmuda live in southern Morocco and Algeria ). It praises Allah, celebrates the Gnawa Queen Maimouna and Master "Boulel" (Bilal?). Gnawa are the ancient rulers of Ghana - a land established in what is now called Mauritania over 1500 years ago. Aicha is either Masmuda or Gnawa or Djanawa or both.

The Berbers or Amazighs of North Africa, that is Algeria in particular, are one of the best civilizations in the world if it were not for the Arab invasion, but they still retain their ancient Amazigh cultures.
