My mom died when I was 2 and I'm 14 now and it hurts me so bad when I listen to this song because I have her in my dreams...and she will never come back it just hurts

Ghostin is my favourite song, i love it so much because it puts me so in my feels, it's about something i can relate to. because i've lost so many people in my life, but i lost someone who i loved so much and still do..and to never see them ever again hurts so much i can't even put it into words. it's just such a drag being withoput them, all i can do is just cry about it. i cant do anything and it's so painfull, and ghostin was the song that inspired me to write my own song about needing something to take away the pain because it's too strong. the pain of love, the pain of loosing someone. and i can't imagine how Ariana felt. i just hate the people who think so low of ariana because it's not true, she's such an ispiring, hardworking strong young woman who is literelly the reason u'm alive. she is my idol and i..i have no words to descrive her, she's amazing. and so are you. i know how it feels so loose someomne, i really do. but you can stay strong, we can manage, much love xoxo

Ariana is such a goddess 🥺😭 I can’t even -

this song would move me even if i didnt relate to it...even if I have never experienced what she's singing about...but I have. my experience was almost identical to what she sings about in this song. my partner & I split up because he relapsed, he was an alcoholic. I loved him dearly, but I couldn't mentally or emotionally be with him when he was like that. a short while later, I ended up in a different relationship. I loved the guy so much, but about 6 months later, I got the news that my ex passed away. he was only 27 so to add on to my grief, I also had the thought of "what happened? how did it happen?" running through my head. I felt AWFUL that my then partner had to see me cry myself to sleep every night...that they had to witness the heart wrenching pain the death caused me, & to make it worse, my then current partner was incredible. like ari says in this song, they were so understanding even while having to watch the grief take over me. they never walked away or gave up on me. even while i cried & wailed, they held & consoled me. ANYWAYS, this song touches the pits of my soul... & the ending... oh my goodness, the ENDING. right around 4:53 & up until the end of the song. it's an absolute work of art. it's Heaven. that HAS to be what Heaven sounds like. to me, that part also almost sounds like the soundtrack to somebody crossing over into the light, from this realm, to the realm of the after life. the layered vocal harmonies, the violins, the vocal glitch right before the end... as if the soul is fading out of this world & into the next... words can't even begin to describe what that ending makes me feel.

Heres my story. Back in late Aug of 2018, i found out my best friend and ex crush (who I would consider my first love) died in a tragic car accident. He was working when a texting driver hit him. He bled out before the ambulance could arrive. He was only 25 and the last time I talked to him was April of that year. It was only a few weeks later when Mac Miller died and I could only a quarter of the imagine the pain Ariana felt. I thank Ari for this song and entire album because both helped me get through that loss of my first love.
