Nice reaction! Band-Maid’s live mixes consistently put Kanami’s guitar on the right and Miku’s on the left, which matches their stage locations and helps keep each instrument distinctly audible. “Gorilla” came about because Akane eats bananas onstage sometimes to keep her energy up. 🙂
They call Akane “Gorilla’ because she plays the drums hard. She plays up on this in live shows by eating bananas. When I saw them, she actually signed a banana peel it and threw into the audience.
That did happen. I have seen video of it. I also saw a post on a Band-Maid forum from the person who caught the banana who was exploring options of how to preserve it. I kind of doubt that was possible judging by how quickly bananas go bad.
I've seen these amazing ladies four times and each was unique and wonderful! Best concert experiences I've had in my 68 years on this rock! About Saiki's surgery, this years after and she takes very good care of her voice, as does her band mates. She is stronger than ever now! This band is always a treat for the audience! The conversation between Misa and Kanami is brilliant 👏! You got the names right, btw.
Not only is Saiki the youngest, she was also the last to join the band. Her surgery was quite some time ago in 2018. Miku found Kanami on social media, and Akane and MISA MISA MISA were schoolmates. BAND MAID has always been best sampled live. I have seen them twice and can confirm that they are for real and sound just as good as they do on studio tracks or live MVs like this, as they do in person. Most of the venues they play in the USA are pretty intimate and you can get in close to see and watch them.
*Andrea* you have inquired if anyone has seen them live and what was the experience was like? In 2022 and 2023 saw *BAND-MAID* a total of 8 times and each and everyone of those experience was incredible. The ladies are the most funny and friendliest band but it also conveys to the fan base. I would arrive 8 hours before the show starts hang out with the fellow madiacs and talk about *BAND-MAID* when you arrive someone writes a number on your hand which holds you spot so if you need to eat or relief yourself that number keeps your spot in line. If *BAND-MAID* setup another US tour and if work would allow I would get a car and follow the tour bus and take in all the shows. 😊😛
Really? that's so nice of all the fanbase!!! Being able to leave to eat or bathroom is so good. Also, I am glad you enjoyed the performances of course 😁😁😁
I don't know who started calling Akane a gorilla. When other members saw the way Akane was hitting her drum kit so hard, they thought that Akane is not a human. Gorilla's chest thumping is called "drumming" in Japan. Akane's drumming is inhumanly powerful; therefore, somebody thought that Akane is a gorilla...shirankedoh😏
@@PANIC_aka_PinD It could be, or it could be Ah-chan herself🤔🦍🍌 I remember seeing an interview video of Miku describing Ah-chan as a chimpanzee because of her long arms and powerful drumming🐵🥁😂
KOBATO MIKU is called a small pigeon, because KOBATO/小鳩 means “small pigeon/baby pigeon.” AKANE’s physical approach to drumming has changed, but perhaps the Gorilla moniker describes how she used to attack the drums. And she likes to eat bananas during their shows.
It happened in 2016 on MISA's birthday in Hamburg, that Akane presented herself to the audience as a gorilla. I am not aware of any earlier mention. Who initiated this name remains speculation.
