Her full album was supposed to be released last October but was pushed to January 4 2021. This is a single which I think won't be in the album. She'll release another song in December called X(like X marks the spot) but no one knows if it's another single or pre-release for her album.

My guess is this is that part of this song being released is that the US label that she signed with is starting to prepare to promote her in the US and is dropping a little low risk initial single to start introducing her. Though it is always possible she just got the opportunity to do this and with the album being delayed it simply made sense to keep her visibility up. Unfortunately Covid probably threw a bit of a wrench into the works with the promotion plans of MNH and her US label. A lot of groups and soloists were signing deals with US labels right before Covid hit. While you can promote a group which has already been on various media in person pretty well via a remote link from Korea, for new artists that haven't really debuted in the US yet, it's a little more challenging to not be in studio to perform and do an interview or sit down for a traditional interview with a music journalist. There is something to be said for building a rapport in person with a media figure and that is a lot easier in person.

I caught Chunha on Weekly Idol with I.O.I when they were together a few years back and she did a freestyle dance that had me reaching for holy water - Chungha then and now is amazing.

I have this strict rule that the day after Thanksgiving to Christmas I only listen to Christmas music. But this song and IZ*ONE'S comeback are gonna be the only exceptions because this one is a masterpiece and I'm pretty sure IZ*ONE'S will be too! Plus, I'm not gonna wait until after Christmas to listen to IZ*ONE that would be impossible for me!

chungha is my ult in kpop and i love my queen so very much I ALMOST DIED WHEN I SAW THIS 🥴 And i don't know what's going on with the releases either lol but i think we are getting another single on the 10th of December and then her first full album comes out on the 4th of January so yeah chungha is coming to attack us again. Good call. It does look like it took inspiration from that. Maybe there is a more modern form of it that goes by a different name, but it certainly appears to have probably been influenced by that dance step.
