"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect! "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release! "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...) The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy! I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
Some advice... I know the first instinct when you discover Dreamcatcher is to straight up devour as much DC content as you can. Trust me I know. Been there, done that. The problem, and I've seen this play out multiple times with a lot of reacters, is that you burn through their discography and then you're kind of stuck in limbo until their next comeback is released. Granted, there's a ton of content out there for them. Between title tracks and b-sides they have over 100 songs. Then we can get into their solos and covers, of which there are quite a few. Throw in all the comp videos from channels like Insomnicsy and, yeah, it seems like the well is bottomless. But... If you don't pace yourself you will find yourself coming to the end before you know it. You've already burned through half their title tracks. As I said, I've seen multiple reaction channels binge their way through DC content and then just kind of disappear until there's a comeback to react to. As much as we'd like to see you react to all of Dreamcatcher's stuff, we'd also like to see you stick around for the long haul. We also don't want to see you burn out either. Pace yourself. Don't rush it. We really don't expect you to react to DC every single day, nor do we expect you to ignore the entirety of kpop while you do it. You don't have to apologize for reacting to other groups. Most DC fans are multistans anyway. The point is, we don't expect you to dedicate your life or your channel to Dreamcatcher reactions. Get some sleep. Relax. We'll be here whenever you're ready to do DC reactions. Besides, as amazing as they are, there's a lot more to kpop than just Dreamcatcher (hard to believe, I know). So many new groups for you to discover like Pixy (who you have probably never heard of), Purple Kiss (who you might have heard of), Red Velvet (who you have obviously heard of) and so many more.

If you ever want to venture down the 'lesser known group' road, as I said Pixy and Purple Kiss are good choices. No pressure. It's up to you. But if you add them to your list I'm certain you won't be disappointed.

Dreamcatcher taking over one's life is really not bad, speaking from experience. While these three special clips have no relation to Dystopia, they do have a very small mini-arc, which is completely meta and becomes prominent in the third one. So watch them in order: Sahara, Break the Wall, Poison Love. With subtitles, this is important. Dami is often referred to as one of two top female rappers in k-pop, with Moonbyul being her counterpart. I think this is a reasonable assesment. While rap in general is absolutely not my thing, Dami is so good at it, it is just as ridiculous to deny her prowess in rap as denying Siyeon's ability to sing or SuA's skill at dancing. During the bridge of Bon Voyage SuA is leaping away from industrial man-made structures (which are exploding anyway) towards a dove that can represent both peace and nature. The lyrics are about saying goodbye for now but knowing they will be reunited in the future and wishing a good journey til then; including how humans' Apocalyptic tendencies have separated nature from us but we could get back to it some day.
Some things Reveluvs and Insomnia really enjoy are: Mamamoo (2014, 4 members) - Vocally they are an All-Star team playing in the regular season. Their songs are barely covered because most groups don't have enough main vocals to split up the parts, except Hip which was intentionally vocally easier so they could do more choreo. A fine introduction that shows different facets of the group are the songs Starry Night, Egotistic, Hip. It would be 5x more powerful and satisfying to invest a couple extra minutes to meet them Avengers style. Solar-Spit it Out, Moonbyul-Eclipse, Wheein-Easy, Hwasa-Maria to get the vibes of each woman and then Mamamoo-Hip. Trivia: They are all really short and 1cm apart from each other, and the shorties were constantly teasing each other about height acting like that cm makes a difference so much their CEO made them write a song about it called Taller Than You. G-Idle (2018, 6/5 members) - Their company has a record of being terrible and kicked out beloved member Soojin instead of defending her from hearsay rumors. Leader Soyeon writes all their title tracks and most of their songs, other members write some songs too. Lion is a popular song with Soojin, Nxde is a five member song soon after they lost her. dreamcatcher \:D/ haha don't worry, just enjoy the music and/or visuals without thinking too much. the mvs pack in a lot of imagery which can be overload and mostly for geeks who like to dive for easter eggs and stuff lol. in short the apocalypse trilogy is about mankind's destructive nature. in maison, they address environmental issues. in vision, it's about war. bon voyage just gives an optimistic ending how they believe we will figure things out and save ourselves, thus allowing them to leave as we bid them 'bon voyage'. dreamcatcher's title tracks are usually grand, epic, anthemic, etc in nature and really made for their concerts. I think only a niche audience would listen to them on the regular. their b-sides are generally more linear and thus less jarring, allowing for easier repeat listen for the typical music listener. but because they always mix it up, very few people will like every song in their discography and that's ok. I find dreamcatcher widens my view on music and got me to enjoy some genres I normally would not listen to on a regular basis. anyways no need to explain yourself. if we get a dreamcatcher reaction every 1-2 weeks, that's plenty ;)
