Here are the solo songs meanings as told by the members. :) *Cherry:* a love letter to her dog Cherry, she said she can’t imagine a life without her dog *No Dot:* for the style she said it was something she wanted to try, which she did beautifully - about duality of longing and obsession for a lover *Entrancing:* about beautiful dreams in a traditional ballad *Winter:* a love song from meeting to ending - inspired by the movie Love Letter (ironic she’s my bias 😅) *For:* a love song for the fans *Beauty Full:* about self confidence and being care free *Playground:* her own personal story - missing being young and painting the gray world

When DC performed Always at their first mini concert for Apocalypse: Save Us in S. Korea, some of the members were brought to tears since it was the first time they saw their fans with the official light stick at a concert. Very touching especially how long they’ve been together, and also the pandemic caused DC not to host any in-person concert.

Starlight never fails to give me chills, I love this song and this whole album

A few follow up recommendations: As you are probably already aware, there are special clips/MVs for each of their solo tracks. There was a documentary series that was released during their promotions about their solos; it was a limited time paid release on Wonderwall, but there are videos of it online somewhere. There is also a ~30 minute compilation of fancams for the No Dot challenge featuring all of their North America stops on the tour for the album. Bring water. EDIT: I forgot to add one (that i saw in another comment). Always was the first song for this album's Showcase; this was also the first time DC has been on stage in front of InSomnia after lockdown was lifted. Bring tissues.

Here's some context behind each solo made by the Dreamies, so you can get a better feel of the song. JiUs solo "Cherry (Real Miracle)" she said "It's that one wish and hope that all pet owners have and will also relate to we hope that our pets stay by our side forever happily and healthy! I wanted my solo track to be my personal story and it's about how I want to be with my loveable dog, Cherry, forever. I just can't imagine a life without my dog. As I was working on the song, I continuously thought about Cherry. " She even said during her song writing she thought about it as if she was writing a love letter to her dog Cherry. 🍒🐰 SuAs solo "No Dot" she said "The message I wanted to deliver through my solo track is the feelings you have when your love for someone becomes so big. The song stands on a fine line between desperation and obsession, so I feel like it'll be a good song for people to relate to and get immersed in. " 👑🐥 Siyeons solo "Entrancing" she said "It's a song that is about how you don't want to wake up from an entrancing dream, so I hope that fans can listen to the song as if they're watching a movie! And I hope that it can be a comfort for those who have experienced a farewell and I also hope it can have a positive impact on them. It's a ballad that's easy to listen to, so please listen to the song whenever and wherever. I've worked hard on all aspects, so I'm very confident of it. I will always want to be a singer who brings strength to everyone.”🌙🐺 Handongs solo "Winter" is based on a winter mood. She was inspired by the movie Love Letter. And she wrote the song like a reminiscent letter that expresses the regrets and looks back on the emotions of not being able to turn back time. She said through this experience, she was able to learn more Korean and it was extremely meaningful to her. She also wanted to send a message of doing what you want to do and to not regret any of the decisions made. And that it's not always about the results, but also about the beauty of the process. ❄️🐱 Yoohyeons solo "For", she said "During the time when we were not promoting and resting, there were a lot of emotions and feelings I experienced in that period. I was worried that many of our fans would become exhausted waiting for us. And I think my song incorporates all the emotions that I had felt at the time. I want you two to listen to 'Always' again but now with the imagery of Jiu seeing insomnias for the first time in the audience after COVID. As soon as the lights were on and she saw the fans she was holding herself not to cry (spoiler: she couldn't and they all got emotional). 'Always' HURTS but then I remember that soon after that they got the first win..... And then it hurts again for other reasons lmao

A 90 minutes video for a 45 minutes album? You really talk a lot! Perfect, I love it! ♥ Such a fantastic album! LiaD, Starlight and all the solos are some of my favourite b-sides. Always is my fave ballad by DC! And Entrancing and Winter are two of my favourite songs (in general, not just DC or kpop). ♥ Looking forward to your solos special clips reaction!

Handong said that her song was inspired by the Japanese movie Love Letter, which was a huge hit among South Korean teens back around 2015. Twice also referenced the movie in their song What Is Love. She also said that her name Handong (寒冬) when translated into English means midwinter. She was born in midwinter so that's probably why her parents gave her that name. She wanted to call the song Midwinter, but Ollounder changed it to Winter. If you do watch Love Letter you'll need at least two boxes of tissues.

Always is my favorite Dreamcatcher ballad. And the whole album is just so good. Edit to add: I also feel like this album is where the producers and members really decided to unleash all the various vocal styles and full power of what the members can do with their voices, esp. Dami and Gahyeon.

All the girls for the most part composed their own music. There are video documentaries of each member, a mini interview where they talk about their inspirations, play their compositions and a little studio session. This was Gahyeon, Sua, Handong and Yoohyeon's first attempt at composition. For Sua and Gahyeon this was their first time writing. Siyeon and Dami practically had finished pieces prepared before Leez even got to look at them and Siyeon's original composition was insanely good to the point Leez asked for her blessing to use it in his future works. They decided to alter it a bit and turned it into a waltzy 3 count to better match the vibe cause the original was closer to traditional battle music. I am a sucker for Winter so I highly recommend: - ONER's mv for struck ft Handong -her first solo called first light of dawn -her third solo called that day -her dance cover of toxic -her dance cover of good old days

As I've been watching your reactions and seeing you go through their discography in order, I'm coming to the realization that I'm absolutely obsessed with dreamcatcher's ballads 😭 Also the ending of Handong's solo left me just not able to do anything when I realized she was singing in Chinese and the way everything cut out except her voice

Always *always* makes me teary.... I watched them perform it live awhile ago and even with the language barrier, the message and feelings really come across so well in this song. Probably one of my favorite ballads. :')

Starlight is one of my fav bsides from them. It hits extra hard if you think about it from the perspective of the girls when they were trainees.

"For", as Yoohyeon has explained, it is an open title for Insomnias to insert their own name, like "For Bri". It is a love song dedicated to the fans from Yoohyeon. During the chorus of "Beauty Full", if you listen carefully, you could hear Yoohyeon has lent her voice as one of the backing vocals.

I also like that they included Skit: The Seven Doors in the album. It's like we have a traditional mini-album with the themes you touch on in your reaction that's all of them together, and then the skit invokes both the classic DC rock sound as well as the sounds of nature that's the theme of their concept for this trio of albums, and then there's a whoosh that opens up the seven doors and we get to see each of their individual styles.

i think it was sua that said Locked inside a door is like a sequel to Jazz bar, at least in terms of the sound, and those 2 are some of my favorite bsides. they kind of served as a gateway into dreamcatcher for me before i got into their harder rock songs. (edit: add yoohyeon's For to my gateway songs)

Starlight hits so hard musically and lyrically because it was what the members wanted to say to their younger self (especially while they were trainees). So it has those uplifting/comforting emotions that is relatable to anyone.

For a mid-concert rest they had each member perform a snippet of their solo song. Yoohyeon and JiU vibed into SuA's performance, Insomnia loved it, so the next concert SuA picked other members to try it and the infamous No Dot Challenge was born. Dami was the first, and she did not shy away from instigating all her other members. Don't forget to catch Siyeon's reaction in the background. Early on in the tour they stopped the challenge to remind everyone there are minors in the audience and to keep everything family friendly. The NEXT thing that happened is Leader JiU dropped a body roll that measured 6.4 on the Richter scale. That video comes with the strongest warnings you've ever gotten for anything. And starlight might be my favorite dreamcatcher song. The feeling it gives me is completely different. Especially in the last part, my soul rises towards the sky.

Spoiler for the special clips (if you haven't checked, idk if you already recorded or not😅), on those pics that incorporated in the lyric video, yes the look also background if available are from the special clip EXCEPT Handong. The filmings were way after the album released, also I forgot the order of the special clip releases but it was randomly posted in the order that's not in age order (the order in the album). Handong was no longer in red hair, also from the special clip to whole things up until now I can say Handong's beauty type is more to fancy elegant side. She can do sexy badass or whatever but her core is fancy elegant, she shines more with it. The 1st teaser pic for OOTD was her fancy elegant but mixed with badass vibe.

One thing about Dreamcatcher's ballads is that while they may have multiple meanings, one of those meanings is always their feelings for InSomnia. This is the heart of Kpop and there's nothing like it in the West.

If a popular idol had released this song, I'm sure they would have loved it and we would have heard this song everywhere.
