All versions of this song by Elvis are great but this version is so full of his heart and soul and it shows the depth of Elvis. I thank you for reacting to this and I know you will never forget it because the lyrics still ring true to this day.

Sadly those song is still relevant today..but all of these years later he is still making an impact. You are certai ly doing him proud by standing for what his and MLK as well as many others dream was. He never performed this live after the 68 comeback special as it was too emotional for him. It is said that after this sing he was on his knees in tears. Although Elvis and MLK never met in person they corresponded and had a friendship and respect for each other. Kindness and caring cost nothing yet are worth everything. Thank you for sharing a beautiful song..a message that needs to be shared and the time that you put I to it. You are appreciated. 👑⚡️

It's a tribute to Martin Luther King who was assassinated in Memphis Elvis's hometown. Also to Robert Kennedy who was assassinated too

This song was written at the behest of Elvis whilst filming the 68 special in reply to the brutal murders of both Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King.
