The black gentleman that does the solo is Eric halloway he just naturally does that when he sings it doesn’t effect his breathing when he’s singing or when he’s hitting high or low notes.

It's funny, I keep finding tiktok clips of oil rig workers doing maintenance at sea, with this music in the background, with about their pay rate. Leaves you with the thought "Oh yes they are well paid. And boy, do they earn it".

This specific shanty is made for the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies. Unfortunately, it's not a real Shanty that was sung in ye old'n days. Still a beautiful song nonetheless.

Mister Holloway (sorry if I am mistyping his name) is a base in octave range. When mister Holloway starts to sing I felt like the EARTH JUST SHOKED with his low notes and I had to buckle up for the rest song
