I'm don't love El Estepario's band's new song but the elements are all there.... He already confirmed in a video before the song came out that it's not about his drumming - it's about the music and they picked this song specifically for that reason. I like the sound overall though. Most bands start off with a bunch of 5/10 songs and it takes time to find their sound. By the time they get some traction, they are a well oiled machine. This band are in a weird situation where there's no room to grow - they immediately have a huge audience so I'll cut them some slack. Hopefully they stick at it as I think they could become a really good band. I hope he realises that whilst it doesn't all have to be about the drums, he shouldn't dumb it down too much because we all known what he's capable of his drumming can elevate the songs. Also Knocked Loose.... Lol. It's so fucking angry 😂 It just makes me want to punch things.
I *was* pretty much expecting what Jorge, Peter, & Chris did for the first #TheCost single, because I listened to Jorge tell us the influences last week! ;) I got early Breaking Benjamin meets Deftones from this one (& that's a solid compliment in my book!), but considering Peter & Chris play together in a *jazz* band, they likely have the musical chops to take us down all sorts of interesting paths.... & I'm 100% here for it!! :)
Personally I liked the drum setup for The Cost, it sounds really snappy on a higher end hifi, I love metal but so much of it is poorly mastered and doesn't sound great on better equipment, overall enjoyed the song and bought it
I listen to and love a lot of angry vocals. I think it’s the particular tone/frequency range of his vocals that I find a bit personally tiring. If it was more sparingly used and he had other vocal delivery types regularly through the song I’d be more into it I’m sure. Also, this isn’t my main channel so my thumbnails here are a bit lazy 😅 I went for the most viewed artist (Knocked Loose) and the same reaction face I have on all videos over here. Apologies for my laziness 🙏🏻
