This one was fun! I think I've found a new way to react to some of Mariah's songs she's performed hundreds of times throughout the years. The Divas Live performance might be my favorite, but the 2018 fan footage from Singapore was surprisingly impressive too! Let me know what y'all thought in the comment section below. The criticism that Mariah has gotten about her voice is a perfect example of how society and the media craves to see famous/beautiful/talented people fall from grace. People love joining witch hunts and being followers. I’m happy you got to see Mariah’s true vocal evolution throughout the decades.

Thy 2013 my all version of Mariah is one of the best imo. That was mature Mariah doing amazing things to an already amazing song and it's just wow! Those runs!

2013-2017 were some of the messiest years for Mariah. Her beef with Nicki, her evil manager, her weight problems, her messy televised performances ... you name it. She also put on a diva-ish behavior as a joke, but people were up in arms to judge her as a bitter, mean, shady, and self-absorbed person. Her interviews were just as messy because these interviewers kept comparing her to other artists, asking her shady questions about the people she had a problem with, and making her look mean and shady. Thankfully, she redeemed herself in 2018. She chose the right interviewers to interview her. She only talked about her artistry and musicality. She shared her struggles dealing with bipolar disorder and her awful family. She wrote one of the best biography books. She's come a long way, and it's our job to give her the respect and the credits that she deserves.

She performed at Live Duet of Hero with Pavarotti where Mariah sang the first verse in her original style then Luciano took the 2nd verse in a latin opera version then sang the bridge together - her most heavenly performance in 1999

15:39 she had a duet with him with "Hero"! Although it didn't kind of mesh well (at least for me) because he was singing in a different language and was kind of doing it in his own style. Not saying that it's bad, of course. He's legendary. It's just that it turned out like a remix because they were each doing their own thing. 😂

@@TreMcLeod_ if I'm going to say anything, it's that Hero is more of a live song for me. The studio is amazing, but hearing/watching her performances of it live is an EXPERIENCE. I wasn't that much of a fan of the song at first too. But I grew to love it over time when I watched her live performances for it. ❤

I don’t understand why ignorant people have to comment about her voice when we all know she has nodules. She’s been open about that. Have some grace and compassion for somebody dealing with a health issue. Throat issues are a health issue. Nobody gives Julie Andrews shit. That poor woman lost her voice from having surgery to remove her nodules. So can you blame Mariah for not wanting to go to extremes to deal with her vocal issues? Having health issues does not diminish who a person is and was. People are really cruel and just stupid. She still can sing but you’re used to 90s Mariah who had no competition. She was hands down the best vocalist of the 90s with an astounding range and technique that was unmatched. So yeah that Mariah might not be the same but she still can sing and entertain. Just leave her be and take it for what it is. Life will bring all of us challenges and I pray that some of the haters receive more grace than they give to this woman when they have health issues. 🙏🏻

Yes... Mariah Monday... The longer reaction was much better. I consider Mariah the modern day Amadeus (as far as the fictional movie goes). The power to be trying to put artists in a box when all they want to do is be free to do their artistry.

So glad to see (and of course it takes a singer to understand what goes behind being able to perform this song live) how you educate people too, not only presenting the videos and your thoughts on those, but also informing. We need to just appreciate what Mariah can deliver, simply just because nobody will do it as she does. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Millions of people over criticize or simply hate on Mariah and they have absolutely NO idea what it take to sing her songs. Not even the 'easy' songs in her catalog are easy. Its so frustrating to see how people treat her. One thing about people they love to see successful & super talented people fall from grace (just to give fake sympathy and tears when they're gone). Good thing she has kept her head above the water for more than 30 years because...whew! She has been pulled down (with blocks attached to her feet) so many times but she broke free. A legacy!

She has done amazing with "vision of love" during her Caution Tour in 2019, specially in St. Louis, Detroit and Amsterdam. Also, in 2023 christmas' concerts, the opening in Chicago with "Hark! The Herald Angels sing" is amazing. Please, check it out if you can! ❤

Thank you so much for this journey ! When it comes to live performances, "My All" is my favorite song to hear. She changes it everytime, expecially towards the end, from the "baby can you feel meeee" that I always wait & she gives a lot of intensity to the words. I loved everything you said about the fact that people are criticizing her without actually really listening to her. The problem with Mariah, is that she's always compared to "what she used to be" and she was SOOOO GOOD at the beginning of her carreer that it can only be less good. Now, if you compare her not to herself but to other singers of today (who don't have nodules to stuggle with), she is still one of the best & smartest singers there is.

The Pavarotti & Friends performance of My All , is probably my fave 🥰🥰. As others have written, She sang Hero with Luciano. I will add a lil background info on the Rosie performance. It was Live from NYC at 10am. So we know that Mariah is usually in bed 😴😴 by that time. The studios are kept freezing cold so the cameras, lights & other equipment don't overheat. She also was Rosie's guest on the entire episode also performing , Close My Eyes ( an Amazing Interview since Rosie is also, originally from Long Island & had Mariah surprised with some common memories they shared about growing up on L.I. ) Def enjoying this format of various performances of the same song 🥂👏✨✨✨.

patti doesnt sound the way she used to... and dolly sounds pretty well but her songs are as demanding as other females artists i mean... if you hear mariah singing her less demaning songs she still sounds the same...
