Morrison's story is one of the great tragedies of boxing. He was for real. He was 28-0 when he got caught by Ray Mercer and then fucking destroyed by a hail of punches before a stoppage came way, way, way too late. One of the worst stoppages ever. I believe that this KO permanently damaged Morrison's brain. The beginnings of CTE lead to impulsiveness-- he started doing all kinds of drugs and, without doubt, having all kinds of unsafe sex with who knows who. Ended up with HIV and refused to take medication, even though it was available. He's a cautionary tale ten times over.

I really hate seeing Tyson falling back to this "brand" of playing psycho-aggro hyper-masculine-- a fantasy that was and is so problematic in so many ways. In recent years we've seen a gentle and reflective version of the guy, who finally seemed at peace with himself, and who also seemed to be set financially for the rest of his life. He's getting pulled back into this violence for the sake of a big payday-- and he could get seriously hurt in this fight even if he wins.

JP has not done anything for the sport boxing except bringing embarrassment to it. Every fight he’s had has either been washed athletes, washed up MMA fighters, and now a ex boxer 30 years his senior. The one time he actually fought a legit boxer was Tommy Fury & Tommy made JP look like an amateur. Jake Paul knew saying that gimmick line would get Mike started, honestly it was a brilliant tactic but the reporter was correct, Jake has not won against anyone legit in the fighting scene. He's trying get a Don King type fight where you catch a fighter on his way down or injured and then go for the title to be legit but though fakers get corrected quickly once they have to fight a true contender.

@@UnexpectedWonderhe hasn’t fought anyone that wasn’t either past their prime or retired or mma besides Fury to whom he lost. With that being said, I think he actually takes boxing seriously and has potential but boxing is about repetition and the grind. The average professional boxer goes through the gauntlet to get that level. Most of them start boxing at an and then go into the amateurs or Olympics or gold gloves, and they fight people who are their contemporaries in skill and age. We have never seen this before, where somebody is already filthy rich and famous and can pick and choose his opponents. I will say this, though. He gives other upcoming boxers, the blueprint of how to get money independently.

@@ShadzVibez Andre August was 35, and was 10-1-1. Ryan Bourland was 35 and 17-2. Those aren't Legitimate Boxers though?! I get what you mean about the process and more. Jake has only fought 10 Fights. I think people forget that. He's fought a number of Veterans instead of upstart tomato cans. He's building himself and his Resume up as a Boxer. People are just mad that he gets so much press and Money. I really like that he gets Vets paid well.

@@UnexpectedWonderBourland is basically a tomato can 😂 he was retired for five years and worked on an oil rig and Andre has only ever fought trash opponents and has been widely criticized for doing so. I’ll concede that you make a point that most boxers fight trash fighters coming up, but my point still stands. What worthy opponent has he fought? The only fighter that wasn’t retired besides Tommy Fury was Andre and he is widely recognized as a person who only fights trash opponents. I do give credit for Jake for fighting period and for showing other fighters how to get around the promoters and get their money.

@@ShadzVibez I feel ya. I give him a pass as a Young Prospect. Folks said that he has to earn opportunities. To me, that's exactly what he's doing. He's a Prizefighter first and foremost. He's providing spectacles people want to see. He's also incrementally fighting Higher Caliber Opponents.
