Freud took it, but Mother T was superrrr entertaining. And yii, he believed that women had dick-envy... for... some reason? And that all boys has sexual feelings toward their maternal figure. Among other things. A freudian slip is kinda like when you accidentally say what you really feel except you intended to say something else/perhaps the opposite of that feeling.

Freud's bars about Theresa's care were accurate. She set up hospices but was more interested in making sure people suffered as they died so they could get into heaven. She took money from anyone, including mobsters. And her order had lots of money.

Also the reason she caught the public eye was a load of bull anyway. A news crew was sent to do a piece on her work using a new camera, and the footage from that camera was so much clearer than what people were used to that some people thought it was a miracle, as opposed to just new tech. The Catholic church took advantage of that and turned her into a brand name

Teresa was not the nice saint everybody assumes. A lot of the lines Freud said are *FAR* more evil and dubious when you realize just how much she exploited suffering people to no ends and was by all accounts, a crooked nun and a colossal bitch. Freud's lines have a lot of "I see that you're focused on.." types of comments because that's what he would have done.

A lot of Freuds theories and ideas were based on man's subconscious desire to reproduce and how it fuels our motivations if we know it or not down to what job you get, where you live, how you behave, your personal looks and smell, all to increase your chances to get laid. That is how I understand it, but I've never really looked too far into him in the first place. I'm mainly going off of context clues and what I've seen other people mention about him.

@RaptorNX01

The idea isn't without merit. The entire foundation of what people call "masculinity" is based around being desirable to mates (with the toxic version just being the extreme form of it). the push for physical prowess, the desire for power, for money, for status, and on and on, are just forms of human "peacocking". And its also the basis for A LOT of the hate. issues of body positivity, lgbt acceptance, even issues related to poverty and social class, racial and gender equality, and such. much of the hate born from "tradionalists" feeling threatened. if you spend you whole life in service of, and craft you whole being around, certain "norms" that you feel give you an advantage, seeing those that are the opposite of that getting acceptance, or even benefiting because of changes of perception can make some feel that what they have been doing might end up being for nothing.

8:58 I don't know why it drives me crazy, but you're misconstruing what Mother Theresa said about the "mom-sex complex." Freud's theories had nothing to do with diminishing women as nothing more than sex objects. It's already been explained, as I've seen, so I won't go into detail, but it's a reference to the Oedipus Complex (there's a daughter equivalent called the Electra Complex, where the daughter wants to subconsciously sleep with her father and sees the mother as a sexual rival. This term was theorized by Freud as well, but coined by his contemporary, Carl Jung.).
@AlexanderAzarov
@AlexanderAzarov Год назад
With the Electra complex, the actual story is that he was saying that those girls were being taken advantage of sexually, but since it was mainly the rich and powerful that were doing it, they made him retract his words and say that the girls wanted it.
@JMajik24
@JMajik24 2 года назад
So the "mom-sex complex" is also known as the Oedipus Complex and was Freud's idea about how men choose their female companions based on how much she subconsciously reminds him of his mother or who fulfills a mother-type role in the relationship because they subconsciously want to have sex with their moms. It's so named after the Greek tragedy of Oedipus who was destined to kill his father and have sex with his mother.

I'm absolutely no expert, only listened to Carl Jungs book psychoanalyse There is a big misconception with the psychoanalyse use of the word "libido" they don't use that word for sex only. They use it like an energy that drives you to be motivated to do something. They apply the law of energy conservation to it and argue that when the libido is suppressed in 1 subject then it jumps to another subject. Edit: Fixed typo, thanks Gary for pointing it out 😁

Well, when Freud referred to sex, he was really just referring to anything that brings pleasure. Also, he believed that everything a person was could be bioled down to sexuality (sex here used in the normal sense of the word). If all the various crack pot things Freud did, by far the worst was creating whole new definitions for words and accusing people of ignorance when they used the standard definition of a word and not his new version. I.e., the whole unnecessary, and even malicious, redefining of the word sex.

Since you were wondering about the money aspect... after Mother Teresa died, an Italian investigative reporter (Gianluigi Nuzzi) uncovered accounting slips from secret bank accounts that she held in her charity's name. At least $50 million was in a bank account in New York City, and the rest in the Vatican Bank, which had its own problems (such as money laundering). She evidently was such an important account holder that she had a secret side door at the bank she could enter through. Allegedly, at one point, if she had withdrawn all her money, she would've literally bankrupted the Vatican. Long story short, they don't know if that money was her personal wealth (which would violate her vow of poverty) or if it was the charity's money. Since the charity refuses to answer any questions, there have been debates about whether or not Mother Teresa should have been canonized as a saint.

“Freudian slip” is called that because Freud as a doctor would sit patients down say a word and have them respond with their first association. This was a huge breakthrough in psychology because it could show the patterns that your patients were subconsciously doing. If you say dogs, bears, a patient might respond with teeth/bites as aggressive word vs puppy/teddy a gentle association. Of course this idea is about the same as using Rorschach tests it’s disputable, unreliable, and only rarely used today in practices. Mostly because we have wide media access and interweave that with personal life experiences. A modern fruedian slip is when you accidentally say something close to what you meant as a response to a question or in casual conversation, sometimes it’s just blurting smt out when you didn’t mean/intend to. Mom sex complex. Was a fruedian idea that sons were attracted to their moms, or to women who represented their moms, and that girls would find men attractive that resembled their fathers. Because children would grow up around their parents and then move onto sexual partners they would take their parents traits they find attractive and mimic that in their individual lives or with their partners. Ie their mom was a good cook so his wife is a good cook, or his mother is blonde and so is his wife. Freud’s practice basically was that human interactions are derived in some way to ones sex and how they relate sexually to others. That the relations you have with other people today are based on your past experiences. To say a guy had an argument with a random female freud would say it may be due to an issue you’ve had with your mother as a child. (And why media really likes that narrative and you get things like Norman Bates.) (abused kids repeat learned abuse behaviors/expand on them with personal experience/creativity) Freud was a cocaine addict and smoke and drank excessively, he was intoxicated for his entire career and daily life and alot of his work reflects what can be described as cocaine fueled fiction, much like that of Spielburg. There’s also a lot of sibling issues with Freud and stuff with that.

Oh, and Freud was a piece of work. Among other things, he postulated the concept of "vaginal orgasm" as separate from clitoral orgasm. In 1905, he stated that clitoral orgasms are purely an adolescent phenomenon and that, upon reaching puberty, the proper response of mature women is a change-over to vaginal orgasms. Rather than post a wall of text here, I suggest you read Wikipedia's article on "psychosexual development". He also (as Bryan Sproles said) came up with the Oedipus Complex, and the female equivalent, the Electra complex. I hesitate to suggest that it was all about sex to him, but sex did feature predominantly in a lot of his theories.

@superdoran6396
@superdoran6396 2 года назад
So no one appears to be talking about his money lines. Or just stating that they were theories without any proof. That's actually wrong. So what happened with that was people would donate a lot of money to her orginazation. But actual people came out later talking about the way they were treated. They stated that they were chained to beds and only given meals not really medicine. And if they didn't eat they were physically forced to by them. That a lot of her places were like the ghetto and very cruel. There was no medicine at work really. And becouse it was so inhumane and almost like concentration camps it was very evident that the funds that were suppose to go to them wasn't. And later we find out that she actually was hiding money from them. Basically means that she was not reporting the correct amount or giving the correct amount to her charity. Basically it's another thing that the catholic church loves covering up. But many of her critics point to that as a reason why she should not be given Sainthood in there organization. Not to mention that mother terrisa herself was very rarely there at these "camps". Theres obviously references to that as well when mother terrisa says her line about 200 bucks a hour. And then Freud says Basically yeah but at least I'm not stealing or "hiding" it I belive he said. Which obviously means stealing. And the whole like about mama wants some omelets. Means two things. 1 is that a lot of people didn't use to trust phycologist many use to belive that it would "scramble" your brain. Especially with that whole old school hypnosis stuff. And 2 it's obviously referring referring his mom theory. That stated that men look for women who resemble there mother. So that was mother terrisa side of things was very easy shots anybody that would go against him would be saying. While Freud was Basically saying in his that she's a wolf I'm sheep's clothing and that she's so old and ugly that no one wants her. Which to me Freud was killing it the whole time with uppercut and just slamming her. Amd I didn't catch on to his first part. But when I look back on it it's actually very smart. She was obviously taking that very stereotypical erb route. Which is make fun of how you died, make fun of what you were known for, and make fun of who you love or loved. Who ever was writting it caught on to that and immediately took some of that ammo away. By stating yeah this is how I died and I'm not ashamed. And then stepping into his own stuff with the whole your not who you say you are. She was playing it very safe while he was playing it very creative. Which to me is why Freud won. When you show that you can predict what a rapper will say before they say it then there's no chance.

Mother Teresa was not the sweet old woman everyone thinks she was. When she was nominated for sainthood, Christopher Hitchens - a very outspoken anti-theist - went to the nomination to fight it. He shadowed her at one of her 'hospitals' and what he saw horrified him. He described her as a nasty person as well as a fraud and cruel to boot. The Catholic Church used her as their poster child to fleece money from the rich: both honest rich and criminal rich alike. Worse still, her flagship Calcutta 'hospital' for the dying was terrible. This was a woman who amassed something like $50M and the people she was 'caring' for were sleeping on cheap, crappy cots. They had one communal toilet where you had to go in front of everyone. The 'patients' weren't allowed to leave their beds nor could they have visitors. Once there, you were akin to a prisoner. No medicines were provided to give relief. You were there to die and that was it. The fortune she'd gathered went to furthering the church, not aiding the poor and sick. Teresa was a deceitful fanatic that the Catholic Church paraded around as some sort of paragon of virtue. A lot of the money she got was stolen from impoverished people and the Catholic Church ignored such complaints as they came to light... as if they couldn't cut a check to repay the people who were victimized by greed. At the time, only a few individuals were courageous enough to speak out against the church.

Mother Teresa said things about Sigmund that were actually true, it lines u with history, however, Sigmunds bars against Teresa were indeed not true. That is what someone who isn’t od faith would assume with her, but in fact, she was one of the most holy people to ever walk this earth. God bless her soul

This is a battle, shiz doesn't _have_ to be true to hit hard. Granted, it helps. As for what he said about her...don't let her reputation or the fact that the Catholic Church sainted her blind you...being "holy" is a perfect cover for doing great evil...pedophile priests and grifting "prosperity gospel" televangelists for example...

The beat was great here. My main issue with this battle was how repetitive the theme of their disses were. Teresa kep attacking Freud's mother complex and sex-related tendencies whole Freud kept nagging on Teresa's "true image" behind the saintly guise. The delivery/vibe of Freud though was something I believe they nailed though. Other than that, mid battle.
