That's true. It's so nice to see him so self assured and confident. The dance clips shown here actually don't really show his ability. He's an amazing dancer but ppl sleep on this talent. Ppl tend to see him more of the comedian or sensitive member. That kinda bother me a lot. His vocals ability too, I feel, gets overlooked. But oh well, that's the downside of being in a group full of super talented people.

I actually think he got enough part to show that he's part of the main vocalists. He's part of many NCT U main vocalist sub units (Without U, Timeless, Coming Home).. it's just that some people consider main vocalist = high notes. When Jaehyun strength is his beautiful low voice.

i agree! but i was talking about recent comebacks where we mostly really hear him clearly in the b-sides, so new fans don't get to know of his incredible vocal skills

I definitely agree with the favoritism over Doyoung but, (and don't get me wrong with this) i kinda get why is that. Doyoung is very very smart and whenever he's on variety shows he not only shines because of his wit and quick mind, but he also really knows how to play along and create his own screen time .... then there is Teil who is naturally quieter and seems to be even more shy on camera so for entertainment purposes which brings attention to the group is understandable. Like you said he does get the lines in 127, even in title tracks, but the favoritism for pushing Doyoung more when it comes to NCT U or projects outside the group i personally think is because sm wants to put the light on someone (showcasing his vocals) who can also attract new people and who is known by the public.

I get what you mean. Doyoung does get a lot of opportunities outside of group activities. I don't know how things work with some members who go on vlive while others rarely/not at all go on vlive or other platforms to show themselves. Doyoung does a lot of vlive and singing in it. But I don't see Taeil doing the initiative to get himself out there, is there are reason why? Or is this also SM managing who gets to do vlive or other platforms? Taeil did do that one cover song, but we didn't get more after that. ​@jesus rivera​ But as to Doyoung getting NCT U songs, I feel like it depends on the vibe of the song. Like, I feel like Doyoung's voice really suited Yestoday's R&B and Light Bulb R&B vibes, while Taeil's voice really suited My Everything. Doyoung did do a cover of My Everything but I think his voice is too airy for the song. That's just my opinion.

Honestly, I think opportunity wise when it comes to music, Doyoung doesn't get much more than Taeil. They both have gotten opportunities outside of NCT to flex their vocals (granted, neither gets enough tbh). Taeil still gets the big parts in NCT 127 music, it's usually him doing the high notes at the bridge and he does get the most vocal lines majority of the time. The only major difference between the Two is Doyoung has done acting lately so he has a drama and musical under his belt. But I do agree with you on Taeil being overlooked and why there's favoritism towards Doyoung and I think the reasoning behind that is their personalities. When they're doing interviews, are on variety shows, or doing livestreams, Doyoung often takes initiative and does a lot of talking. He likes to play MC and is very witty in his remarks so he play off of the other members well. Plus he's competitive when it comes to games, so he's often loud and give good reactions, he makes for an interesting and entertaining character to watch. Taeil on the other hand is very mild mannered and is a very go with the flow type of person. He's tends to stay quiet in the background and often doesn't go out of the way to talk unless he's spoken to. That's not a flaw with his character, it's just how he is, he's great and I love him (He's my bias too). But when it comes to variety and entertainment, Doyoung definitely stands out more and I can see why more people are drawn to him. But there's no arguing that Taeil is the strongest vocalist in NCT and one of the best in the industry and I think even people who don't bias him acknowledge is vocal strengths.

It’s a crime for winwin to be left out ever

Last year during kick it, a magazine was launched, I don’t know the name, which updated all 127 positions, Jaehyun is officially a Main Vocalist updated by SM itself, it’s not the fans who invented it… Haechan, in this magazine, he is still listed as Lead vocalist, but everyone assumes he is a main vacalist, even though he never debuted as one.

In the same magazine, Mark went to Main dancer and Yuta to Lead.
