The nice thing about uncut recording vlogs like this is that the transparency (however short of a glimpse) in showing NCT’s process and talent. Not a lot of kpop agencies are this open in disclosing recording processes and letting fans hear “raw” vocals. These videos also reinforce SM Entertainment’s reputation for being the company most known for its vocals. NCT were the first to continue these vlogs, and it just continuously shows that they will never have a shortage of talented rappers and vocalists ❤️ love your videos!!

jeno is main rapper, sub vocalist and lead dancer of nct dream, in nct2020 he did that shouting parts in 90's love and resonance and it would seem easy but it's not because mark said 'jeno's voice muted because of the recording' in a live stream and it shows how jeno and other members worked hard for the songs. also jeno came to the fore with his vocals in nct2020, in deja vu by nct dream he did vocals too. he is an all rounder for sure! thanks for recognising him he deserves more :(

i think i get what you’re saying for the “rhyming” bit. it rhymes in korean but due to the language barrier and how it’s translated, in english (or maybe other languages as well) it won’t rhyme unless you specifically make it into an “eng version” and rhyme it. but it would take away the meaning often times if that makes sense??

This is why NCT U was created. They can create any song and just pick from the members which would fit. It doesn't have to be in a specific number like 127, Dream and WayV. NCT U had Baby don't stop with only 2 members. So, yeah. This would be a bit easier for the producers since tey have to fix a lot to fit each member like in the other units.

I love that you guys reacted to a behind the scenes. It really gives you a new perspective to the entire process and shows you how hard artists work to put out their best work. Their channel also has bts videos of them practicing choreography and filming their music videos, I always find the choreo videos really fun! :)

Mark has always been praised by producers because he does this a lot. He would always ask for feedback and ask if he can redo his part and try something cooler. That man is always for self-improvement and we love that.

a little bit late but yes you guys can try send your demo's to SM Ent. What I know is SM has a camp for the producers,composers and songwriters to work together on it. During the camp, they have like SM International Partner producers which to name a few like The Underdogs, Teddy Riley, LDN Noise which many composers can work together under them. I know you guys have heard Bazzi. If not mistaken Bazzi were invited to the SM Songwriting Camp first and work with SM a lot back in the days. Songs that Bazzi work on is NCT 127 Cherry Bomb & NCT Dream We Go Up. Just to let you know that SM invite from all continents America, Western Europe, Northern Europe, Asia & Ocenia during the camp. SM style to give a song to their group is unpredictable honestly. Like EXO - Kokobop supposedly for Red Velvet but Lee Sooman ( The founder and producer for SM, pretty much control SM A&R ) told the producer for kokobop to lower down the pitch because he feels like EXO can pull that song better and in return, Red Velvet got Red Flavor which supposedly for Little Mix. Another story is for The 7th Sense, the producer of the song shared that many record label reject the song many times until SM A&R come and pick up theirs as they find it so new and interesting and can understand the producer vision of the song. Which later come true, SM gave the song to NCT very first song debut. The 7th Sense very much iconic that in korea, for the kpop idol trainees would avoid this song for evaluation because its hard to pull off and only NCT can. So thats a few stories with whole how SM works on producing and selecting songs for their group from producers and music critics!! You guys can go and send them up who knows yall songs make the cut to the album! I will be here and supporting you guys!!

You guys should watch interviews about American/Foreign KPOP composers on RU-vid, they tell stories about how they got the chance to send songs to different KPOP agencies Korea and then got picked up, how the agencies implement the songs (with further adjustment, especially for the Korean lyrics) in their recording/post-production process until it is released to the public. It has a lot of insights regarding the music production especially ones composed by foreign composers.

About the rhyme thing: in Korean music, specially with rap, the rhyming is found in the vowels, so it’s almost always just partial rhymes and not as obvious as something like “rat” and “hat”

That's not the American version, that's the demo, SM has worked with international producers whether they are from America, Norway, Switzerland, etc (They have even worked with African-American producers as well) which means that the demos created by these international producers are written and recorded in English and then SM producers or their artists translate the lyrics from English to Korean/Japanese/Chinese. Try to write and record demos and then, talk with SM.
