She is representing Israel, and while it is a personal empowerment song it is also symbolic to the country and it's position in relation to the world. "Hey, you don't like the way I'm talking Hey, so you stand there keep on call me names No, I'm not your enemy so If you're gonna do it, don't do it Hey, do you wanna check my DNA? Older stories, time to go away... History caught in a loop Don't you wanna change it? You know that we can, you and me Can write a new book Don't you wanna change it now?" 🇮🇱 = 🦄
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣she represents hypocrisy and hypocrites like you, the diaspora of the world, who gathered themselves from all over the world and occupied a land that was not and will not be their land ,o criminals. Since when was the prophet Israel a state? And since when were the prophets a state? Where is the state of Abraham, the state of Jesus, the state of Muhammad, the state of Ishmael.... etc. And where are the Ismailis, the Abrahamists, and the jesustist, O Israelis?! 😂 That land that Britain and the countries of the world sent you to is the land of the people of Philister who was and will remain light years older than you in that land, it is the land of the Palestinians, and its name will remain Palestine, and sooner or later the land will return to its owners. Freedom to Palestine from the river to the sea, from Algeria with Palestine to the end of the world 🇩🇿🇵🇸🇩🇿🇵🇸🇩🇿🇵🇸✊🏻✊🏻
She has already revealed this song is about the state of Israel. Read the lyrics carefully! The unicorn is Israel, the Start Up nation. A unicorn is a tech company worth more than a billion dollars, and Israel is full of them. "You keep call me names, your not my enemy" = everyone criticizing Israel calling us names. "History caught in a loop, don't you wanna change it?", she means the history of the Jewish people including antisemitism ("Do you wanna check my DNA?"). The lyrics actually means a lot! And the instrumental at the end reminds very much the Israeli national anthem! WOW!
The song is about Israel & how others perceive us.. ‘They hate the way we talk’; ‘you call me names’ Do you want to see my DNA?’; ‘I’m not your enemy’; ‘change the history books’; ‘I will stand like a unicorn & won’t look back, not look down..’
The more I listen to this song, the more interesting it seems to me and I like it more and more, I think this is not typical of other songs. Apart from the strange song mix style, there is another interesting side to this song, the interpretation of the lyrics. First, this play on words: Phenomen-phenomen-phenomenal Phenomenal - phenomenal Feminine- feminine- feminine. The Unicorn should be seen as a symbol, it has several meanings and things to say. For me she is number one. A completely unique musical style, from a professional point of view, the different musical styles were perfectly bridged with the bridges, the musical lyrics have at least 3 types of messages (business, feminist, historical and present of Israel). It is a brilliant work both musically and lyrically. Noa Kirel's beauty, her performance, her dancing are even more of a bonus to this performance. The only thing that can cause a disadvantage in scoring is politics. Congratulations and good luck Israel!
@@אמיליוייסביין your only half correct . Battle invite comes in case you don’t “break the loop” . “You wanna see me dance” is a known street euphemism for a physical fight invite…
Thank you so much for you'r reaction. I'm so happy you liked the song. I really hope you will vote for us. Sending alot of Love from Israel. 🇮🇱🦄🌈❤️🇮🇱🦄🌈❤️
Unicorns are magical and they stand out in a sea of regular creatures. They are the ones others tell to ‘tone it down’, because the magic of a unicorn can make others uncomfortable. That’s why the guy’s all ‘ashamed’ almost, because she gets so much attention just being herself. She does her unicorn thing, it gets everyone’s attention, and then comes down to the others and for a brief moments exists among them, or ‘blends in’.
"Unicorn" - a strong horse-like creature with a horn on its forehead that can heal sick people. This is actually a metaphor for the Jewish people, the cure for covid (Pfizer), the strength of the Jewish people that managed to survive the Holocaust, and above all the uniqueness of the Jews that the other nations don't have 🦄✨
In Israel, the word 'unicorn' is a slang term for a successful startup company. I'm not sure what the song is specifically about, but it might symbolize uniqueness and success.
Just for u 2 know lyrics explanation The unicorn is israel, unicorn is a word familiar with hightec companies and israel is known for its famous hightec companies. Israel is also like a unicorn among other countries cause its the only single Jewish country in the world. We are Simply asking why do u hate israel? Is it because what u have been told.. Is it because of our jewish dna... Is it because of history? So let us write a new one (like the bible). If u want to call us names dont do it... a suggestion at first but for the second time if u want to do it, i am going to stand here like the unicorn i am! strong as i am unique as i am. Out here on my own (refers to israel always defending itself against UN rediculus desicions) I wont look back i wont look down i m going up you better turn around. Now The total vibe of the clip at the beggining is like a thriller/spying movie, and every thing happens in another dimension. And the clip ends dramatically in silent ( u feel someone rubbed the song from u) its a blink for the mosad and its silent operations.
I think the music video is her being unapologetically her most authentic self and if it doesn’t sit well with anyone- she does not care. And to show that, there’s the dissonance bw the reality and how she is expected to behave according to social norms (she’s on what appears to be a fairly boring date) and her doing her thing being her most authentic self.. also, her date looks kind of embarrassed and there are some awkward looks bw the other diners and it seems to bother him. She was literally on the ceiling, had an orchestra and all that and by the end she casually comes down to finish her meal. as an Israeli I truly feel like it represents me and my country and some of the struggles we face. not to mention the song is bomb, the music video is fire and noa kirel is a literal queen.
@@avidan295 I am aware of that, thanks and I actually like this song, I just didn't expect the unexpected. 😜 Another entry that does it as well is Estonia and that's what makes both of the songs very interesting, even though the Estonian entry is far, far, more vocally demanding and very underrated unfortunately.
Great reaction! "Unicorn" has VERY meaningful lyrics! (This is my take as an Israeli, but as it is a work of art, it is open to different interpretations, so yours is valid as well! :)) Here are the main points to understand: The song is about the relations of Israel (The "I" in the song) and those who perceive her wrongfully as their enemy (The "You"). To all her neighboring countries, Israel stated time and time again "we are not your enemy!" (In the song "No, I'm not your enemy") Also, the fact that the Jewish ppl are originated from ancient Israel ("Do you want to check my DNA?"), and not a colonial foreign power, as falsely accused by it's enemies. As you may know, There is a vicious cycle of violence going on in our region for more than a century that we must break and change ("History caught in a loop, Don't you wanna change it?"), cause Israel is attacked time and time again ("If you're gonna do it, don't do it", ) and is forced to respond. The music also contains elements of the Israeli national anthem - called "Hatikva" - The hope. One of the symbols of Unicorns is Hope and Success, and also strong healing powers. Notice also the colors in the Music Video, they are very meaningful as well! The ceiling is all-red, she wears all-black (Symbols of violence and grief) and switches to colorful outfits when she sings the Unicorn parts from black & white - Those parts represent the hopeful and successful future ("That I won't look back, I won't look down, I'm going up"). The fact that it's all upside-down! (Not a normal reality) They are all very symbolic! Hope all this helps to clarify the lyrics. 😊 Cheers! ✌❤
Beyond the fact that the performance and the song are out of this world. You can see that Noa worked super hard to make all the viewers happy in their hearts. The song speaks to every human being. Everyone should love themselves. Don't pay attention to what people say. Celebrate who you are and what you are. Unicorn 🦄🎉👑 Vote 23# 🇮🇱
Fun fact: that huge laughter in "you wanna see me dance?" was not part of the song! She was laughing at this part at the recording and they decided to add it in
"UNICORN" HAS DOUBLE MEANING. One is the LGBT+ community and the second is Israel itself. Israel has the power of the LGBT+, the LGBT+ community is REALLY strong in Israel. And Noa is known for supporting the LGBT+. The one that made this song is LGBT+. "I've got the power of the unicorn" - LGBT+ support her back in the Eurovision. Second, No politics but, lots of the enemies of Israel just keep saying it's not a real country, and what is also not real? yeah, unicorns. So it's probably a teasing for all the hater they are facing. "I am gonna stand here like a unicorn" Also it's very Israeli to throw back the hate to their hater.
You should react to Eurovision 2023 Finland...Kaarija -Cha Cha Cha, Czehia...Vesna-My sisters crown, France...La Zarra-Evidemment, Armenia...Brunette-Future Lover, Norway...Alexandra-Queen of Kings, Georgia..Iru-Echo, Spain...Blanca Paloma-Eaea, Germany...Lord of the Lost-Blood and glitter, Australia...Voyager-Promise. These are all contestants in the BIGGEST MUSIC COMPETITION IN THE WORLD called Eurovision, watched by 200 million people every year in over 50 country.
There are Ukrainian dances in this clip. They are dancers of Ukrainian singer Maruv with “Siren song” (Bang). I am impressed how everything Ukrainian became popular: Israel took Ukrainian dancers and Loreen copied the song of Ukrainian singer Mika Newton. What the hell is going on)))
From israel we dont like this song because It is very important to have a song in Hebrew because the goal in Eurovision is to bring your country(Something special like lenguage) in the song witch we dont have in this song like what makes it different from another song in English??!!!
Israelis offered the palestinians their own country multiple times even after they kept refusing. They always refused cause they want all of it and no jews allowed. Never gonna happen. Jews are from the land of judea and samaria and the kingdom of Israel. Judaism is way older than islam and native to the levant. There were also a bunch of terrorist attacks recently and lots of dead israelis. If they want their own country they can stop killing israelis first and teaching their kids to hate. Israel will never let down their guard while pay-for-slay is still a thing. They just want to live in peace but its hard when your neighbor wants you dead. Bet youve never been there to see for yourself. Also this is a song entry bro. Eurovision is an escape from the reality of the world we live in, dont bring politics into it unless you wanna argue with someone like me. Free palestine from Hamas, the PA, the PLO, and PIJ. Arab israelis are already free in Israel. They have the same rights as jews, members in goverment, good careers, and way more freedom than in the muslim territories.
