Thx. There was something about Tina that was so unique. When she shared the stage with either Mick Jagger, David Bowie or Rod Stewart, true love was palpable even through the screen. She was amongst the Giants of rock.
This was announced as her last concert. It's an amazing roller-coaster of her career. It's amazing what she could do even in her 60s. The whole concert is available here on RU-vid
Great job with your reaction to Proud Mary live performance from Tina Turner (RIP Queen of Rock and Roll). VERDY Do We Don't Need Another Hero from The same show it my favorite song from her.
This song being a cover of the original by CCR has been done by Tina as far back as when she was with Ike in the Ike & Tina Turner Revue (late 60s early '70s). The dance moves are basically what she use to do with the Ikettes. In the live album where Ike is behind her, when she starts talking, Ike breaks in with "Momma don't you cook no fish 'cause daddy's going to bring home a whole mess o' crabs!"
To this day, I've never seen anyone else whose death was met with universal celebration the way Ike Turner's was. He was a terrible human being whose claim to fame was exploiting and beating Tina. We can take comfort in the thought that with her passing, she certainly went to a very different place than him.
The song called "River Deep, Mountain High" was a worldwide number one, but not in USA. Celine Dion also recorded it, and on the David Letterman show she changed on lyric to "did you sing like Tina" I'll never forget that. I feel so lucky to of become a sentient human during the time of the great Tina comeback of around 1982ish… my true pop culture kicks in hard at 1984 when I was 8. 1984-86 pop culture went wild, but it was limited to like such a small group of stuff that EVERYONE loved. Like the movie Gremlins. In fact Gremlins might’ve sum up the year perfectly.
Merci beaucoup. Tina lives on so we don't need another. This one is my favorite by her. Extended version. In Mad Max 3 she was incredible in the role of Aunty Entity. That sax is so amazing and the arrangements of the synths. Irrepeatble. Thank you Tina. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ib4sX6af5nU.html From this extended version the sax notes seduces from 4'40"
Dear Verdy, As i recohe Tina was asked to do Wembley. I can recall one US newscentre mentioning Tina got 3 million Dollars to please perform. As she was officially retired by then. Please go out more.
Hi...Cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival, another group that Verdy must listen to sometime on his journey through Rock. Tina will stay alive as long as there are people who like good music. 👍
I Can remember as a young boy watching her on TV. If I remember right it was on Kenny Rogers and the first addition show. If I'm wrong let me know. She always had killer legs.
Saw her live in South Africa in 1975. I was 9 but can remember the concert was very good. My Dad was a big fan. PS i have a suggestion for an album for you to experience: Magma- Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh.. It's intense, mad and wonderful
The tragic thing about Tina Turner is, that she celebrated her great successes with rather ordinary, not really outstanding pop music. Of course she was always live very exciting, but with Ike Turner it was much more authentic and rocking, no matter how bad the guy was as a person. To see and hear in this in their thrilling live studio version of the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic "Proud Mary" from 1971: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hzQnPz6TpGc.html
I think this is Wembley Stadium - it looks outdoors and the pyro is more pronounced. Wembley Arena is indoors and holds only 12,500 people and has much stricter pyro rules owing to Health and Safety standards.
Look at your wearing an NWSL club jersey! I'm a Chicago Red Stars fan myself (we are NOT doing well this season). It's a shame there isn't a Canadian club in the NWSL yet but I guess the CANWNT and the Canadian federation are trying to start their own national league instead?
You have to see her sing "Nutbush City Limits "...Live from Arnhem Netherlands... 2009. She looks and sounds great. (she was 70 years old) You'd never know it. Also, see her live singing "Steamy Windows" Barcelona, Spain in 1990 .
Love your reaction to this video and Tim Turner I'm a long time fan of hers and I sure will miss her she went too soon as all great artist seem to the ones you can't get enough of.. anyway I've already subscribed to your Channel and I think I love you lol James from Texas
Verdi please check out Playboy After Dark (1969) with Ike and Tina Turner. They do Proud Mary and an incredible cover of Come Together by the Beatles. I think you will like it.
please, the reaction of Guns N Roses performing in Tokyo Japan 1992, see their stage action and feel Axl Rose's voice, I'll make sure you enjoy the music 🤘🏽
This is old, over the hill, Tina Turner and is not a good representation of her. Watch her performance on the Ed Sullivan show if you want to see what made her great.
