@@yellowberrio Yea I was confused as well, apparently it's one of those British English vs American English differences. A "gherkin" is a pickled cucumber. In the US it's called a "pickle", which is actually stupid because you can pickle pretty much any vegetable, and a "pickle" could mean any of them. Like olives, for example. Also, "chips" in this episode means "french fries". Uncle Roger was right about the pickles... guy didn't want pickles in his burger, and that's what made it dry, and then he complained his was dry. She should've been "well you asked for it that way", but sass doesn't necessarily go over well with judges in these kinds of shows.
@@lamelama22 So the British has a distinct name for each type of pickle, which you're right, actually seems more logical. Google tells me gherkins are pickles but pickles are not gherkins lol. Wait, but those things the lady was frying looked like chips.. Haha lol she didn't wanna kill her chances of winning. But then again she was brave enough to say "Cakes are boring" on a baking show 😂

Buns are considered Chinese food in Japan, but they do sell a lot of weird buns. Pizza is one of the most popular flavors, and I'm pretty sure I've seen that exact chicken design before. He complained about making the buns cute but that's the one Japanese thing that they did. I asked a Japanese youtuber after her reaction to this video if she'd buy a burger bun if she found it in a convenience store and she said "definitely"

Japanese is known for making *everything* cutesy-looking. Heck, they'd probably turn something as basic and plain as a paper clip into something cuter. Haha exactlyyy, I'd imagine the texture/combination would be so weird, wet noodles wrapped within a fluffy bun would simply make it a soggy mess. Plus can you imagine taking a bite and strands of noodles dangling out from the bun's opening?!
