I never heard of Uncle Roger until I came across your channel. Is the accent real haha? Yeah, when I was younger, I definitely didn't like when people passed along Americanized Chinese food as Chinese food. These days, I just consider it as a separate cuisine altogether. It can still taste good, but I like when people are up front about it :)

He's quite big on social media now, though I'm glad you discovered him through me! He is from Malaysia, but the exaggerated accent is a shtick; he's been living in London for the past few years so his real accent isn't as pronounced. Not a fan of Americanized asian food, but I do think people should know the difference. Sadly most people don't know. :)

There are apparently people in the North who enjoy lamb. However one pop culture reference Seven Samurai has a line at least in the English sub "eat dogs or sheep" implying that one would have to be really starving to even consider eating either.

Odds are you've seen the remakes like Magnificent Seven which replace samurai with gun slingers, or less popular Battle Beyond the Stars which replace samurai with starships and even pays tribute to Akira Kurosawa himself. There are far too many to list but it could very well be the most remade film in history.

@@StephEatsnTravels nothing much dear, i mash gooseberries, ginger, cumin seeds and put in coriander leaves and i add in water and let the ingredients simmer in water for min 15 minutes ❤️ it will start giving a beautiful aromatic smell😊 strain and drink the juice by adding Palm sugar or you can even add Honey 😍

Before I started traveling worldly I was that guy I thought American Asian food was authentic not until I have the real stuff in the real countries. Do you have a favorite Vietnamese restaurant you go to in San Francisco? One of our favorite hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant is called cord don blue on California Street. When I say a hole in the wall I mean hole in a while but good cheap food.

I love that you're cultured af Bobby 🤗 I actually haven't eaten much Vietnamese food in SF, since SJ is Viet food capital. Turtle Tower in SF is great though; they specialize in northern-style pho. I have heard about Cordon Bleu!

There's so much ignorance in the West concerning other cultures. I'm glad the current generation is working so hard to educate and preserve their cultures! This is one reason why my channel is all about cultural information.
