I love the way everyone looks at Geoff when he flicks his hair. Like they want to edge away but have no where to go!! Your reaction set me laughing at it again. 😂😂😂
To me, Layne stole the show here between his percussion being as solid as always, his "rap", his bass line during Isabella's part, and whatever he did in the last 5 seconds of the song.
I've seen this dozens of times, laughed at Geoff's hair flip every time, you're the first person I've seen remind us he's playing the shapeshifter! Suddenly instead of just being weird it just makes sense.
Geoff proves once and for all that he is the world’s most talented entertainer (absolutely amazing singer, great actor, and comedian with no sense of personal shame😂). There are one or two comparable singers, better actors and comedians, but NO ONE brings the entire package like Geoff Castellucci!
Check out the side-eye from Layne when Geoff sings in the blouse-and also what’s happening with Cesar. SO many hilarious bits in this! You can always tell when Layne arranges a song because there’s bound to be some outstanding percussion. Plus he has this quirky sense of humor that shows up when you least expect it, AND he just loves to give Geoff some wicked subs and characters to play with. Also, I am just more and more impressed with the acting from everyone in this group. And I hope Ashley becomes a regular featured guest. She’s amazing. Would LOVE to see her do something with the group AND Rachel!
Geoff singing with a pretty glow and flower petals made me laugh too. Diana gets to be fabulous, Geoff gets to be fabulous. Both get to be fabulous. I love it
Dude, I was just like you when Geoff's part hit singing that female line, I think I was laughing nonstop for a good five minutes, my wife was looking at me like I had lost my mind. Great performance and an awesome reaction Dave!
That fluttery blouse and a bass voice, then the screech when the white rat showed up. Dear heavens, I've watched this video a dozen and I've never seen the movie, but I might now! Loved the reaction.
@@ShyAnn291 The movie is Encanto.....It is well worth the watch....I've seen is a few times already and I'm a full grown adult....I love disney movies....
I laugh harder every time I watch this because I can find more happening in the background and expressions. Cesar and Layne kept me rolling, Eli busting out his best Lumberg on "hey sis", and Geoff...just Geoff on this 🤣
Your giggle fit has me watching this over and over. It is now in my playlist for when I am depressed and need to have a giggle fest of my own! Thank you for your awesome reaction! The petals that are wafting by and Geoff’s “smooth “ hand motion are due to the way they filmed it. To get enough “wind” to make the petals stay in the air long enough (and to make their hair flow so beautifully), they had to use a large fan and a friggin’ leaf blower! 💨🍃💨. They spared no expense and stabilized the leaf blower by balancing it in a gallon jug of…something 🤷🏼♀️. It fairly blasted those petals at them. They filmed it at double speed and then slowed it for the video. It was amazing to see them perform that part at double speed. Please think updating your description with your wife’s reaction. Did she enjoy it as much as you did?
5:25 something Isn't adding up 🤯🤯🤯🤯 @whatitdodave yes Geoff mastered that scene 😂😂 I believe Geoff's wife was the one helping with the petals 🌺 🌬️ going around them!!!
Honestly, between the wardrobe change and the scream that Geoff did, it was really hard to take him seriously in this song. I think he was comic relief besides holding down the bass line.
Dave.....How many times has VoicePlay...."Got YOU"?......they surprised you, in a good way, in Dragonborn comes.....now,, Geoff tickles your funny bone.....>^^
Absolutely love your reactions! Particularly to this one. As a patron, we get to step ‘behind the curtain’, and there was so much to see for this one. Layne did a Zoom call for some of us while he was starting the arrangement. Ashley was his first choice of featured artist for this one, and she was perfect. He knew then what character Geoff would be, and that he wanted to use his daughter’s remote controlled Remy. (Actually, he often borrows her toys for their videos!) At the live feed we learned that Geoff is exactly one women’s clothing size larger than Ashley, so they were able to get the clothes to match. And we were there when Layne told everyone that in order to have the flower petals drift properly, they would have to film that section in double speed! I love everything VoicePlay does, but this one is so special. From the first time I heard the finished product, the only way I could describe it was pure joy!
On another reactor's page, a commenter noted that Ashley put Geoff up to taking that solo, and did you notice the side eye Layne was throwing at Geoff?XD
It becomes obvious that Geoff is playing Camillo when he "changes" to Isabela and back to the shape of Bruno. It also shows when he describes Bruno as this huge monster in the song. Camillo always embellishes his stories.
By the way, if a local theater company decides to do Encanto, YOU really have to try out for either Bruno or the shape-shifter. I could see you playing the characters in your head. You’d be great!
I saw this video about a hundred times now....and I just realized, that Geoff even is wearing the pink shorts ! They should have shown his "hairy" legs too, don´t you agree ?
It's been stated, putting in a big plug. Movie is Encanto (Spanish generic translation "the allure of something or someone is the pleasing or exciting quality they have.") Disney production Original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. This movie was an effort of multiple people (producers, writers & song lyricist). They engaged use of psychologists/counselors to review dynamics of personalities & wrote based on their findings & own family backgrounds. There are interesting stories regarding the cast. One person had Covid & they waited until recovered & did work nearby to participate. Another due to Covid couldn't travel so brought recording nearby. Another person was pregnant & did all parts during her term & even I believe sang last song & went into labor within hours (have to research unsure). If go on to see clues will learn there's hint in the clothes & background. Example first time heroine in a Disney movie wears glasses. Because of Covid, this didn't play in theaters as long nor got the audience. I think was out around Nov. 2021 & went to DisneyPlus in Dec 2021-January 2022 missing Thanksgiving-Christmas audience. Surprisingly did fantastic streaming. Maybe due to kids off on holiday & timing because of Covid could watch it. It blew up & the songs are on social media now talk of returning to theaters to do sing-along. I avoided watching Encanto thinking it would be more silly/childlike (Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles) than contemporary adult (Invincibles or Buggs Bunny) or a dud like Cats. When watched pleasantly surprised. This is more contemporary geared more to adults. I was very surprised, not just this movie but also "The Adam Project" was a nice movie too.
Love your reaction! You started laughing, and I couldn't stop! These guys are amazing! Geoff looks pretty good as a woman! His low notes give you chills!
Another reaction I'll be back to watch again! Loved it!! VoicePlay rocked this song, and I just love their sense of humor. Please let us know what your wife thought of it!!!!!
It's fun watching you laugh. Are you aware that Ashley is playing 3 characters? Pepa, Isabella & Mirabelle (eyeglasses). Geoff is only playing Camillo the shape shifter. He does the first part octave lower, then shifts to Isabella (look at both the blouse & pants exact same).
Best reaction yet. I really enjoyed watching your take on this. The umbrella, Geoff’s blouse and the “goat scream “ were my favorite things. Thanks again. This was fun
Omfg! I almost spit out my chocolate cake when you started laughing, I couldn't wait till you saw Geoff! He forgot how that bit came about and tried to blame Layne for it, but Layne said it was his idea that Geoff do that line (it was Layne's arrangement) but that Geoff said, "Wouldn't it be funny if..." and the rest is history! BTW: The scream isn't Geoff, it's a sound effect of the screaming goat, with some Layne editing added. As always, your reaction was highly entertaining and I hope your wife gets as much out of it as you did. NO SPOILERS!! And if she doesn't want to get in front of the camera, that's fine, it's not for everyone. Just tell her we all say, "Hi."
Dave, I enjoyed your reaction very much! Voice Play really knocked this one out the park! I haven’t seen the movie yet,but if it’s on Netflix, I’ll have to go watch it and see what the fuss is all about. I’ve actually been curious about it. I’ve seen a few snippets of previews. Back to the video. I love that we got to hear Layne sing! His beatboxing in this was awesome! Geoff really cracked me up with some of the things he did! Screamed like a woman with the fake rat, and then the hair flick was killer! Everyone did their thing and it all came together brilliantly! I wish your wife would do some videos with you! I’m sure any would love to see her, too!
I'm the same as your wife! watching it forever. my husband was so tired of watching it. ha ha ha And your reaction to Geoff in that outfit. just the best.
Never heard of the movie or the song till now. Fun reaction though. Hopefully in the future we can see the illusive Mrs. cause we know you got taste (at least in music) so we know she gonna be somethin!
Not gonna lie it was funny and alright but the original song was so good, I feel the alterations they added didn’t add anything this time; it felt like it took away from the song. Idk
