Been to uk and Ireland more times than I can count. Been coming over to scotland every year for ten years now for whisky drinking. Spent two weeks in wales with my family this summer. It feels like another home country. Especially Scotland. It is nice coming from Norway and still be amazed by another country’s nature. I love the ales in the pubs!

Brits have been pale since the first Vikings arrived... (White as snow in horror). Is summer you turn lobster red... (From sun bathing overload). In winter you go blue from the cold. Dressing poorely. (This makes the colours of the Union Jack, so basically BRITS) !!! 😂❤

I went to York and that area, and I've been to Scotland. I noticed that people have a more direct sense of humor, people cracking jokes on my expense, is something Norwegians only do to friends. Not that I didn't like it, but that was one thing I Noticed. Loving history, I love all the museums, the historical events and sites, air-shows, re-enactment, etc.

Regarding the Norwegian knowledge about hooligans... I went to school in the 80s and I remember in our English class we actually had a page in our book dedicated to hooligan culture. So I actually first learned about it in school, when I was about 10 years old.

In the early 80's I read a presentation of "The Tribes of Britain". Were the Sloane Rangers, (like Lady Diana), were compared to Teddy Boys, Punks, Bikers, War Time Period Dressers, Goths... 😂❤

In Scandinavia, it's the Danes who drink from an early age, and sure, they drink in Norway and Sweden too, but their alcohol consumption is a little below us Danes in terms of amount, but all in all its pretty much like in the UK

You should know that the Norwegian people was from ancient times traditionally oriented towards England/Britain. The Swedes, which acquired Norway from Denmark at the the end of the Napoleonic wars were traditionally aligned towards Germany. If anyone could ever understand what Danes have to say on the subject, it would probably be that they resented the British attacking Copenhagen around the time of Nelson, and that they just love choking on anything that will make them sound more Danish... 🤣

There is something with irsh, scot, aussie that feels familiar for me(30y man) so they kind of get default positivity from me. Havent really had any bad experiences with any eu people. Its mostly stuff from tv/online that gives bad impressions of people and countrys. So people that havent traveled or only meet a few just paints millions from that.

Don't worry mate! We love the Brits, and the Scots especially! If I could have it my way, there would be a Scottish-Norwegian Union - you get oil, we get whisky.

Brits are like Christmas Pudding... One big mound of non homogenous ingredients. They're all sorts. As in from all over the world... They're easily set ablaze. No need for brandy butter... Love from Oslo 😂❤

Asking people this question only makes them feel embarrassed. All the quirks they mentioned are everywhere. Perhaps their traditional food then. It can be a bit special but you'll survive.

Typically what I/we think of Brits is that they're either upper class or working class. Middle class in England? I have no idea 🤷‍♂. It's either super posh or they have their previous bath tub & toilet in their back yard 😂 BUT, as many Norwegian, I love Britain. It's a window into both a great history & the future. We grew up with English humour, football, crime series etc. We've often looked to Britain politically rather than our neighbours in Scandinavia.

I'm Icelandic and I actually see a lot of similarities between English Hooligans and Nordic Vikings over a thousand years ago! A tiny fraction of Nordics "went Viking", just like a small fraction of Brits now "go Hooligan" during the football season. Both are just the troublemakers of their times, causing the associated bad reputation. Icelandic troublemakers during the Viking age allegedly abducted a lot of beautiful Irish and Scottish women in their day, which I believe accounts for the similarities of mentality between Icelanders and the Norse on one hand, and the Irish/ Scottish on the other hand. The Icelandic sagas contain a lot of stories about the cultural influence of these women (Melkorka is a notable one), AND the genetic makeup we have recently learned is (at least maternally) half Irish/Scottish. What I find most intriguing is how, whenever I find myself in Ireland or Scotland, I feel a very strong kinship with the locals! I wonder if Irish and Scottish travelers feel something similar when visiting Iceland?

This was really interesting. Outside of Scandinavia, I have always thought English people had a more similar culture/lifestyle as Norwegians(and generally Scandinavian countries). But I personally haven't heard that much outside of TV and media. "You" are more posh and fancy people according to my impression from the movies. And bad teeth and tea from the internet. The weather is very rainy and glum(but that might be more of a London thing) in contrast with Norway's diverse and a bit more extreme weather. Your football fans are crazy though lol But I only learned this when some videos popped up for me on the internet rather recently.
