This man is singing about his true personal story growing up & paying tribute to Mr. Wrigley for being a great friend and mentor, as well as for instilling in him the faith to believe in the words that Jesus spoke that are "written in red" in the Bible!!!

This is a true story........ Ronnie wrote this from his heart.

This is such a moving, touching, loving song to share. Ronnie tells his story from his youth with love and grace.

I cry every time I see/hear this. Reminds me of lady who helped raise me. I was raised in small town too and worked for 25 years as Adult Protective Services social worker in small, rural county in Alabama. I was blessed to be with so many elders and hear their stories/memories. You learn alot of you take the time to listen. My parents were born before 1920 but I wasn't born until 1962 as I was menopause baby. My parents were close to 50 when I was born. They had lived through Roaring 20s and depression and WW2 and Korea and all that, so I learned tons from them. If I had history question, I went to them. I know they are in heaven, looking down on me everyday. So I Believe too. Thank you sweet ladies for your reaction. The actor they got to play Ronnie in college did that perfectly. When he gets the news, he is sitting up laughing and suddenly he looks like nothing else but a balloon with an air leak as he slumped forward and his face went slack and his shoulder bowed. Clear imagery of a body all but collapsing at bad news.

God bless you all, and especially for enlightening everyone about the "words written in red". Our old King James Bible filled my thoughts immediately when I heard that line for the first time. That was long, long ago, but I think more folks could use that instruction. Thanks so much for letting us watch and listen with you!

That is a true story based on Ronnie Dunn"s life. The college he was attended was a Christian college Ronnie wanted to be a preacher he was so influenced by that old man. Then one night someone saw him in a bar playing his guitar. They told the dean of the college and he was asked to leave that college. So he left. I would have asked w 0:20 ell what where you doing in the bar.😂😂😂

I've been a fan for years and have been lucky enough to see them in concert a few times....check out Miranda Lambert 'Over You'.....beautiful song, wonderfully done....just found y'all today, will be checking back in....I was raised in small town, America, miss so many of the older people, neighbors, family, they all knew you and usually your Momma knew what you were doing before you got home!!! I use to be a truck driver. I couldn't stand this song because, the words written in red was so close to the words Jesus said. Was they afraid of irritating none believers? But coming off the road, and having time to see the video, it makes perfect sense.

I didn't understand the words written in red thing the first time i heard this song. Catholics dont mark our Bibles like that as Jesus is God so its one voice in all times.

This is a story from Ronnie’s youth. He had hard time singing it the first time he sang it live, at least that’s what I read somewhere and they say he doesn’t sing it live very often. You also should listen to Vince Gill and oh I can’t remember her name…anyway the song they sing at George Jones funeral, Go Rest High on That Mountain. I’m in tears every time but good tears. Vince write the song about his brother that he lost and then also sang it as a tribute to George. He was in tears during the song and the other country artist had to jump in and help him out. ❤

I love this song. Let me give a word of advice, anytime you pause a video you need to back it up a few seconds before you play that way you don't miss anything in the flow of the video or lyrics that help tell the story.

I used to go to my neighbors house and climb his plum tree's, me and my buddy's would eat fresh plums right off the branch!! I miss those simple days, we had so much fun without video games and internet!

This helped rejuvenate my shaky faith during a time of many losses.Old Man Wrigley in my like was my Mom, very faithful and 4 years older. She died 2006. I was 55 then, knowing how lucky wehad so much time. I've tried to findher faith, but this song brought her back to me close as before. This song has become a daily song-prayer !❤

Love, love, love this I've seen quite a few reactions to this on here and the way you explain the story and I remember growing up on Mabert rd late 70s 80s and part of the 90s two years of her graduate high school when we moved but it was light you can keep your your windows and screen door unlocked and your big door open all night and sit on mostly all the neighbors porches and they told and taught us a lot... I wish that times were still like that... miss Paul told me how to make a pillow doesn't seem like a big deal then but as I got older the first time I ever saw this video I just was like wow thank you I can go on and on and on but great reaction ladies...💜

Cry every time I watch it!

I was brought up down south way out of town. People looked out for neighbors then. When mom was sick, church women brought over cooked food. When neighbors cows got out or needed help during harvest time, people pitched in.
