I've watched hundreds of reaction to this video and I cry every time

This was a true story of his life as a young boy.

Oh man that Hammond B-3 was creative genius. Feels like gospel. Feels like church.

When I was young there was an older blind lady who lived down our dirt road. I would run to Miss Mary’s house every chance I got. I don’t know who needed who more. I loved listening to her tell stories of her growing up, as I helped her with sweeping up and snapping beans or peeling potatoes. I just couldn’t understand in some of her stories why people would hate someone because they had darker skin. She explained racism to me and I cried and she rocked me in her lap, patted my back and told me hush now. I told her I was sorry people were so mean to her, she hugged me told me to hush, it wasn’t my fault. When Miss Mary died I remember sobbing at the funeral, i kept hearing her say , “ you hush now, it’s alright.” I’m 51 years old and to this day I just can’t fathom how people can hate another human being because of their race, religion or sexual orientation. Judging others tells more about you than it does them. Judge others on their actions and nothing more. Everything we need to break unhealthy cycles of hate are within us.

Ronnie Dunn said that gentleman taught him about God and how to be a good man.

Nothing but truth in singer Ronnie Dunns voice and the story video....this is about his childhood experience which shaped him as a person and a man...he rarely performs it live because it's so difficult to get through it...Brooks and Dunn are gems of country...I luv Ronnie's bluesy/ gospel grit in this song...this video is in my top ten all time favs.

His partner in crime is Kix Brooks. A very talented talent as well. When they first started, they were solo acts, put together as a duo by a very smart executive at the record company!

when i was deep into doing drugs, this song was instrumental in my recovery back in 2006. Now every time I hear this song it reminds me how close I was to death and how grateful I am to have never gone back to "the fast life".
