How to build the new ReactorCraft fusion reactor. I walk you through all the pieces of the reactor and the support structures and indicate where tutorial diverges from practice. Mod Download: www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1...
I come back to this video every once in a while just to try to recapture that nostalgic Minecraft experience of not knowing something. Thanks for all your work in MC, Reika
Actually we had the science to prove that we can create a nuclear fusion reactor but we don't have the technology to make it commercially available as a power source
@@israelromero3212 it's cause heating the plasma needs more energy than the fusion puts out. The swiss plasma center in Lausanne has a functioning tokamak. it's fascinating stuff when you look into how it works.
Last time I player minecraft I made a cube out of wood and logs now this comes along and try to play with mods like these and just go ummmm for around an hour and then just kinda start understanding and then at the end i just forget everything. this is what happens when there's a crap ton of mods coming out
I like how every nuclear reactor mod that comes out gets more and more complicated and awesome at the same time. It all started with just one block from IC2, and then Atomic Science, Big Reactors and now this :D
I am at 30:03, and I have been screaming for the last 15+ minutes about one of those circular blocks of the reactor you first put down, that is backwards, and that's why it's not charging...
I think realism is very important in mods like this, and I'm glad you refuse to move to easier, yet unrealistic methods of producing/using power. No IC2 machine or Gregtech machine will EVER be this impressive, no matter how complex it is or how many diamonds it uses. (Why diamonds? I just don't get it. Sure they're rare, but that doesn't make building the machines any more difficult.) I love your mods and I hope you continue to produce them for a long time! You are the best!
Y'know, if the mod author *himself* can't remember how to make his structure... that kinda indicates a bit too much complexity :3 Cool looking mod, I might try it later just for lulz.
ReikasMinecraft That.... proves my point so much more XD Still, instead of building this as a way to generate power, I think I might have to try and make a stripped-down version as nothing more, and nothing less, than a Plasma Cannon!!!! Wheeeee! If only it could be aimed along the up/down axis....
Sir Scarfalot is not complex to build as a matter of fact its most simple than keeping a decent ic2 reactor working without blowing half of your map XD
20:46 Rotate that ring! For god shake rotate that ring! Can't you see the electricity jumping back Instead of flowing forward!? Edit: xD thanks, that was a great tutorial. A little scary the plasma leak... does that have any block damaging effect, it damages health? Can it be weaponized in a war server, like throwing a plasma stream to the enemy base?
I know right!? I noticed the rotation was wrong on that ring when he was rotating all of them and he still didn't correct them when he was wondering what was wrong!
me:*looking at the screen* cmon notice the rotation >:O he's still wondering me:CMON >:O still wondering´ me:FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Vasco Neto you try and make a video this complex and get EVERYTHING right the first time. You will make mistakes. It isn't scripted and this is all done by memory and whilst talking meaning not concentrating on the actual project but instead of what to say and think next. My gaming channel has some mistakes. Heck the bigger youtubers get most stuff wrong as if they are noobs. It isn't easy to talk and build and explain and everything else.
I watched this in 2015 when both my grandparents were alive now in 2023 they arent, this video brings me memorys of them. now I finnaly have a pc to play this mod thank you for the amazing video I love this mod
Hey man, do you wanna play Minecraft! Ya homeboys: YEAH! Jacob: Lets build a city! Nathan: How about we build a big dog! The kid who invited everyone to their house: let’s build a giant fucking fusion reactor.. The kids that were invited: v i b e c h e c k i n t e n s i f i e s
for those that do not know yet that have followed this tutorial and ended up with a non working reactor all you need to do its use rotarycraft liquid pipe, place them above each torroid magnet and fill it with liquid nitrogen, its a critical part to fusion as the mags need to be really cold in order to superconduct
This is an awesome contraption. I don't know if you're a Star Trek fan, but it would be neat to see your take on a Star Trek style antimatter warp core. These reactors are awesome, but they are huge and mostly built horizontally. Antimatter warp cores are built vertically and seem to be a little more compact. I'd be able to fit one in my Galacticraft space station.
ReikasMinecraft I have watched the entire video from 0 to 40+ min just becouse of the thumbnail and you make a damn good explenation of all details. But i dont know why i was interestred to watch the whole video since i never used ReactorCraft but it looks good :D
I had to rebuild this thing about 3 times because i kept breaking a block of the solenoid while it was moving which would create a giant explosion and blow everything up
+League of Minecraft A moderate amount. Not as much as you might expect, but still a bit. His source is on github: github.com/ReikaKalseki/ReactorCraft
DefectivePotatOS - The almighty potato king who loves Headcrabs It produces, excuse my french, a SHITLOAD of power. However, it produces steam, which must be converted to RF via either Turbines and generators or steam dynamos.
I love this mod I am as of yet working on incorporating it into my private mod-pack. However it is conflicting with several of my mods so I need to sift through them and figure out which of them this mod is fighting with. All in all great job on the mod as well as explaining the immense complexity. Huge thumbs up to you sir!
This mod is really amazing. I've just finished building the fusion reactor and it works fine (didn't try to re-use the energy yet though) and looks awesome ! Thanks a lot for this video. I have one question : How do we stop the fusion reactor... ? Even if I cut the magnetic pipe, there are still some plasma in the pipe and the fusion keeps running on. If I cut the electricity, plasma takes the tangent but doesn't stop... The only thing I could do was to remove one induction coil piece, which stops the fusion. But I want to stop it from a distance with button controls, any idea ?
Hey, I know you're probably getting a thousand questions on this but I'm hoping you or someone can help me out. I've been following the tutorial exactly and very carefully but I'm stuck at the part around 12:00 where you power the central magnet. I've used the correct machines, I've checked input/output directions of all the parts, the coil itself spins when I turn it on but the actual magnet doesn't move. Any ideas?
This is totally nuts! I'd love to see how much supplies you'd need to craft it, or better still, roughly how many 64x64 quarries will it take to get all the resources :P
I watched this years ago. I searched something like this, doubting I would find this again and I saw the thumbnail, I remembered that structure and I was like OH MY GOD
ReikasMinecraft around 24m or so you were wondering why power wasn't going through, one magnet clockwise is probably the magmet facing the wrong way since there seemed to be double the normal amount of bolts between it and the next magnet clockwise. currently 25 20s into the video
4:20 he did one magnet too quick and set it up completely the wrong way you could see it in the rest of the video as the sparks were actually send back on that one when he noticed that the sparks would connect he was trying the magnet next to it it was a mistake that could happen to anyone so iif you are really building this you should watch out and only start things up as soon as you know for sure that everything is set up correctly. that same advice would also sound for the reactor from ic2
so correct me if i'm wrong, but could you remove a couple of the neutrino (correct thing right?) absorbers in a certain area, in SMP you could potentially use that as a weapon?
The mod seems overly complicated... mainly you have a lot of blocks that are functionally identical and just being used for different positions. It would make more sense to combine them into a single block. The magnet pieces, the injector covers, etc...
lol, but you're not emulating all the internal structure, you're using 4 different filler blocks that are all basically just cement, same with the magnets and the coils ;)
reikasminecraft is doing a great job at replicating it in minecraft not to mention i don't see you making any mod packs that are this complex and this purely beautiful
Raistlin Paddock I don't publish my mods, so you wouldn't see them one way or the other. And it's not the function of the mod I was commenting on, just that there's so much duplication of blocks just because it's in a different location. The mod is definitely well made, I never contested that. Nor would I. Rotorycraft and reactorcraft are both enormous mods, and just keeping mods that size from constantly breaking when things change takes plenty of skill. So stop taking my critique about someone else's work personally as if it affected you. And stop reading into things that were never said.
this is truly impressive. on one hand, i'm kind of annoyed that it's so complicated because i'll probably never be able to make one :P but then again i'm also really glad you did make it so complicated, mainly because it looks cool, but also because many other mods oversimplify these kinds of builds grossly *cough* ic2 *cough*
ReikasMinecraft Are to turbines from reactorcraft not finished yet because when I place them in the world they are just black blocks with inputs and outputs
Tony Allen Well, what are you guys even going to need all that power for? I guess power the entire server? Well, in single player i can't see my self ever needing that much power.
this is pretty much the average endgame multi structure for mods like this. hbm's mod has similar unfair build recipes, although if i'm being honest, a port to 1.12.2 would be pretty cool for this and many other mods that like to stay in the stone age.
I am a very big fan of your mod even though I do not fully understand how certain things work or how some people calculate the capacity for certain reactors. I am a chemist myself and recently started working at a refinery and as such I have a great interest in mods like this. If only I had your modding skill I would try to make a small mod about chemical plants that is (semi-)realistic like your incredible mods. I salute you good sir.
UltraMegaLolFilms300 40 minutes is pretty short...I'm pretty sure you can find tutorials on just vanilla redstone that is longer than that. NTM most of it is trying to figure out problems, or talking about other aspects of things, all sorts of stuff. I can build a reactor in like 10 minutes. It's also so simple, I have it entirely memorized.
22:44 I'm guessing you forgot that the coil thing was the opposite direction, but it was the one on the left that was last to recieve the purple effect
