Hi Eliane, I’m a new subscriber b/c Pat recommended your channel- congratulations on 200+ subscribers! I thoroughly enjoyed your insight and answers to this tag. I’m excited to explore some more of your content. I too am a very strong believer in interactive reading. It’s something that I’ve realized fairly recently after reading Tolstoy’s War and Peace in 2021. Also, I love mind mapping, but have only ever thought to do it with writing projects. 6:22 Something helpful that I thought I’d mention about study guides for books is that a lot of times author’s will put study guides up on their website for their readers that you could just print out. Anyway, my apologies for such a long comment! 🤭

Hi Diane, hello and welcome. Thank you for letting me know how you found my channel, much appreciated. Never worry about long comments, I enjoy reading them and I appreciate the suggestions and recommendations. Reading your comment reminded me that 2 of my books have sections at the back for book club ideas and discussions - The Happiness Project and The Alchemist. I have never read War and Peace, may have to give it a try.

Good morning Elaine! I also annotate in my books. I have only started doing that in the past 5 or so years. I used to not want to mark in my books, but I find now that I enjoy revisiting what I annotated. I used to do the whole reading goal, as to how may books am I going to read thing, but this year I am not doing that one. I feel like people, including myself, put unnecessary stress on themselves. I like challenges like the A-Z challenges, or new author challenges and others like that. I did manage to do the Intimidating TBR tag and it is uploaded. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us. Have a blessed day!

Hi Janie. I am the same with annotating in books, many were prestine for a long time but now I find it makes it easier as I put information together. Enjoyed your video on the tag and glad you had fun doing. Thank you for watching and commenting 🥰🤓

I'm finally getting around to seeing this, and I'm glad I did! Your mind map with the differing colors looks excellent for organizing what you learn. I know some people frown upon writing in and dogearing books, but I find it essential for fully engaging with a work. It's great that you both annotate and create light study guides for yourself for each book. Wonderful advice throughout!

Hello and welcome. Glad you enjoyed and I agree about engaging with what you read, makes things stand out and memorable. Colours just make the notes pop and like colouring with words 😎 I appreciate the kind words and comment. Have a great one

So much more organised than me lol, I set goals which i thought would challenge me the last 2 years and have breezed past both, kinda expecting my reading to slow down soon but we shall see. It was fun listening to your answers 🤗

I am old school. My books are pristine, never liked scrawling or dog earing in books. If needs be I use a small notebook, just noting page and line. Still each to their own! Enjoy your reading.

Hi. Many of my books used to be pristine because I thought I might unhaul some. But after getting involved with the banned book project, I rarely unhaul a book now and if I do they are in excellent condition. For me the highlighting and notes are from my college and university days - easier to make notes in textbooks. I agree we all have to find and do what works best for us. Thank you for watching and commenting.
