Why read the same books everybody else does?
I know so many people who have read Atomic Habits and still have not changed their habits. So I went to my Local Library and found these hidden gems that absolutely transformed my mindset and habits.
Here are the FULL Titles and Authors for all the books I read:
- Train Your Brain For Success by Roger Seip
- The Secret Wealth Advantage by Akhil Patel
- The Catalyst by Jonah Berger
- Get Out Of Your Own Way by Dave Hollis
Chapters:
Intro: 0:00
Book 1: 0:19
Book 2: 1:40
Book 3: 2:22
Book 4: 3:34

When my son was in medical school, he developed the ability to learn a concept, fact, theory, etc. in a one time read. He told me thatt "he trained his brain" to concentrate, focus and just implant it in his memory. He said it happened automatically and the more he did it, the better he became at it. He now has two board certification and is an Attending Physician.

the thing that brought you to where you are now is the result of that atomic habit. subtle act but made a huge difference.

You are right! it is a great book. I felt widening my scope to other books outside the mainstream could bring some benefit.

Funny enough, I read Atomic Habits and it took me a month to read it in between a busy work schedule. The next month I read four books based on the principles of Atomic Habits. Now I try to read at least a book a week. It's a popular book for a reason.

In my experience learning to read really fast is useless in everything reading related, but useful in some unexpected ways. If you're reading nonfiction, you'll need to read slower to retain information, if you're reading fiction, you'll want to read slower to experience the book. Feelings can't be rushed. However, learning to read faster did help me with some unexpected things. My peripheral vision and space awareness got so much better, and It taught me to meditate, by focusing real hard on one thing. Great video btw

Couldn't agree more! Trying to rush certain activities in life truly ruins the experiences.

Atomic habits is really good. Why didn't you like it?

I did like the book, to be quite honest. I found James Clear's writing to be very insightful. However the mainstream adoption of the book diluted its effectiveness.
