I'm such trash for the Shadowhunters books and my friends always wonder whyyy LOL (cuz I mainly read thrillers/epic fantasy and non-fiction). But these books are so much fun. I love the snarky or absurd humor, the characters are not that deep but I like them all (meaning no one annoys me, which is rare), the world is pretty easy to understand and the plot is always moving (you especially notice it if you are very used to read fantasy where you get 400 of "obligatory" and detailed worldbuilding but nothing really happens with the protagonists when you look back at it). TL;DR Brain candy that everyone needs sometimes, especially between heavy reads that suck your soul

At this point it's embarrassing how happy I am when I see you've uploaded 😂😭 I met Cassie in Dublin with Holly Black on Tuesday and she's just such a queen, I love her so much. They were both so great but Cassie is amazing. She's so funny irl too. Honestly, City of Bones isn't my favourite but I feel like we have to give it kudos for starting everything up. A lot of people's criticisms of City of Bones are in relation to the writing style but I totally agree with you, I've always loved her writing style! I haven't read City of Bones in years, I need to start rereading them now. These Read With Me type videos are what I love, I love in-depth discussion of books and seeing your spoilery reactions as you're reading is so much fun.

I’m trash for this series and the other series, I just love Cassandra Clare in general. She is my auto buy author, I don’t know why some people don’t like her books cause I love them so much. I need to do a re read cause I haven’t read these books since 2017 lol

just finished reading it, it's so good. not a huge fan of Clary's super angsty moments but I can kinda get past it. edit: but one thing did infuriate me more, it was when Clary and Simon were talking and Simon said "I thought when I said I love you, the other person would the same thing or I know, like when in The Return of the Jedi where Leia says I love you and Han says I know" THEY SAID THAT IN EMPIRE STRIKES BACK!!! NOT RETURN OF THE JEDI!!!

I've never read any Cassandra Clare books and beginning of the year I decided I was going to start.Still haven't.So think I will read City of Bones and then try to keep up with you from there on.
