"Enemy to lovers " is usually never done well in contemporary romance. Huang is pretty much a perfect example plus my favorite 😏, the miscommunication trope, also never done well in contemporary romances. At least they're consistent. 🤨 Woo-hoo, novella sneak for the win. 🤣

I agree that novellas are the hardest format for me to find examples of it being really great to new favorite level. I don’t have that issue with short stories though

Reading romance should never be painful. Personally, I implemented the "has-to-last-less-than-6h-long" rule and it helped with my reading enjoyment.

Had to rewind during your review of every summer after because I somehow thought you were talking about siblings and was like... What?!? Anyway, that book feels kind of "one of these things is not like the other" compared to your other GR romance award nominee reads. Is the accurate to the reading experience or was I not paying enough attention?
