Hey Seabolt I have been watching your videos and you inspired me to take the plunge with Mandarin. Let’s see how it goes. It’s a language I have been wanting to learn for many years. Keep up the good work! I've been taking a bit of a break from active Mandarin study, but I've been watching a good bit of Chinese/Taiwanese TV in the past month, so it's still bouncing around the brain.

yeah, do more of those! we have very similar lever of chinese so it was very pleasant to watch and learn at the same time

Good luck. I'd rather read old English poetry or Shakespeare, just as challenging but it's my history.. Goodness knows how long it would take to read equally edifying stuff in that language.

So, in the the time you learnt 100 characters I learnt 64. At 1 764 characters those stories in Remembering the Simplified Hanzi really do grind one down. Haha. 加油加油加油

64 is nothing to scoff at. I'm going a little slower because each character i learn can now be combined with a previously learned character and make a ton of new words now. I'll learn 1 character and it'll unlock like 8 words haha. Keep going! 加油
