The crazy things is he has video proof of literally everything he says! The deer eat muchrooms *in your head*bullshit* BAM video of deer eating mushrooms. Dan will forget more about deer and buck behavior than most could dream to know. Thank you for all the information. Truly glad to of found your channel.
That shirt has got to be my favorite of your great collection of shirts! I would say it fits me to a T, but i'd be afraid to wear it where i go. To many idiots around that might suckerpunch this old man. I'd probably be jailed for my 2nd amendment rights. Your knowledge is priceless! Thanks Dan.
Dan, I'm a woman and I love your videos! I've been out twice this year with my cousin Tony Crew deer scouting and tomorrow we're heading out again. Watching your videos has taught me so much for what to look for and scouting with my cousin showing me the buck signs. We live in Ohio and our woods is located only around a mile from where the Hole in the Horn Buck was found. My Grandfather Ben Crew was the foreman of the Erie Railway crew that found the buck. Thanks Dan, you're a great teacher and I'm learning so much for you, blessings to you and your family.
They eat algae pretty heavily in warm early season weather. Cant tell you hiw many deer i have seen with a glob of whatever olants are below tye waters surface
Dan, Thank you for teaching me. I have more time now that i recently retired… i am leaning things from u i didn’t know…i have been one of the 99%… i don’t want to be one of the 99%… because of u i will b able “up my game”… your “in the woods video’s” teaching about tracks, wedgies, rubs, bedding etc… are OUTSTANDING! Thank you, Ds
In a world where “reading sign” implies checking cameras, this series is fantastic. Width of a track gate is another great tip-off to a good buck. Small bucks and does average about 4 ish inches from centre to centre of left and right track. Big deer are closer to 8 inches centre to centre due to a wider chest and shoulders. All the best.
Deer can be like people. Some are shy, some confident, some crazy, and some deer can be mankillers! U gotta watch out for those Dahmer deer carrying butcher knives 🔪
My best years hunting was the late 90s. Hunted environment edge, no concern for access and exit to stand. No camo and using old McPherson 1980s bow. Had more success back then. The more money I make and better gear and clothing I buy, the less success I have. Archery season is busier then Gun in west Michigan. I’m lucky to shoot a doe these days with all the knowledge and technology. I miss the 1990s
@@conflict7269 any Michigander cringes at the thought of leaving our great state to go to Ohio. The irony though, is that you're right. The pressure here is unreal from other hunters and the bucks just don't last as long. I dream for the bucks I see from Ohio and Wisconsin.
@@steveming2197 yes sir i respect that i actually have always wanted to hunt Michigan! But just a thought if you ever do go out of state Ohio might be worth your stop if your used to hunting pressured deer but your chances of a boone and crockett are higher i believe, you will still have to put the work in but its worth it!
@@conflict7269 Michigan hunting has some beautiful terrain and rich history. Nov 15th is a holiday and great time of year. Lower Michigan has stopped for the most part, but mid and northern Michigan schools have the day off for opening day. I've only hunted Michigan, but as my kids get older, the day I draw a Ohio tag are becoming much more likely.
Huge bucks do dwell in Michigan. I live in the city of Grand Rapids and decided to put a camera up in a 60 yard section of woods behind my house in an old suburb neighborhood. I couldn’t believe the pics I received in August. A bachelor pad of five bucks daily were bedding forty yards from my bedroom window and the biggest one had a rack of madness. It was an old wise non typical beast that stared in my camera. Once October 1st came, no deer. The woods are super thick creating ivy tunnels and they dead end into a busy street. One way in one way out. Makes me want to bend the rules and hunt him even though it is illegal in Grand Rapids city limits
Over here in Northern Maine we get some big deer . I really learned a lot from you Dan and the rest of the Beast, in just the past couple of hunting seasons, even if I've been at this Whitetail Bow hunting for 45 years. Really enjoyed watching that young Buck work that tree. If I could suggest any positive critical advice, it would be to maybe Slow Down your camera work while showing Sign.
My biggest buck encounter had the freshest scrapes and rubs that were huge! I hope that I can find more spots that setup like that one. The next season had 5 different trucks around, I went in no sign I left
Heyy Dan. Quick q if you're reading this. Been Rewatching all your videos on here for the last 5-6 months every night. My question is which video that you've posted is the most beneficial for a mobile hunting guy as from as information to help someone locate and kill on public. Everytime I watch a video I seem to pick something else out that I didn't catch the first or twice time.
Dan!!! Can you send me a hang on stand and sticks for me to write a review on? I live in northern Wisconsin and enjoy what you’re doing for the hunting community!
Hello Hunting Beast 👹 Any chance in the future you could do a video on fresh sign/tracks compared to old sign/tracks??? I have a hard time telling if a track is fresh or not!! Cheers! 😎👍🇨🇦
What is "the gate " of the deer tracks? Dan talks about it at 10:37 of the video. Thank you so much Dan for all that you do!! I love my hunting beast sticks!!!
This is my first year hunting, I’m finding a lot of sign and trying to learn how to interpret it. This is the most helpful video I’ve watched so far, thank you!
I think of all the most helpful things I have learned from you is reading and hunting buck sign. Still learning of sure but last year in particular it was a real game changer for me. My problem was I couldn't hit the broadside of the barn. One question I do have if you don't mind answering in your busy life. What is a good height usually on a rub to make one believe it's a big buck. I am 5' 10" and I have seen some with nick marks on the tree chest high. You said you were 6' 2" so obviously that's going to be lower on your body than me. In feet and maybe inches, at what height do I start to think that's probably a good buck? Thank you!! Always enjoy the videos!
nicks help show tine height but can be misleading but the real indicator to me is the center height of the rub... When the center height gets waste high or higher its generally a bigger buck.
