the thing I realised with this book is that Twilight feels so much more romantic than MS because Bella is just seeing Edward as this perfect guy lmfao so it was so funny reading MS and seeing how much Edward hates himself and overthinks EVERYTHING. He was my first love too so it was just hilarious revisiting this time it made me so nostalgic for 2008 lmao. Also; cannOT believe Edward was already planning to leave Bella at the prom!!!!!!! I was so shocked like it tracks w the rest of the book but when I remember that in Twilight it was so romantic and then in MS he’s like lol I’m leaving you in 1 month shshshdhshahahw

I really loved Midnight Sun because it shows how much a mess Edward is. Like you said, people love going on about the age gap when Edward is UNDOUBTEDLY a teenager mentally. It also really shows how Bella is mentally always the stronger one of the two and is consistently far more sure of herself and her choices; Edward is the opposite of that! Also, as you said it’s so interesting reading it with 10+ years of further perspective. I found it more impactful because there was such distance between first reading Bella’s POV. Such an interesting companion piece and I will be forever grateful Stephenie finished it and have it to us all, even if we’re had to wait a long 12 and I thought the day she put it on pause indefinitely was the end of the world at the time, lol.

I actually really enjoyed how different Edward is in Midnight Sun. Bella thought he was perfect so she only showed us perfection. I love that he's so unsure of himself and constantly battling with if it's safer for him to be around to protect her or for him to leave. Honestly, I relate to doing nothing but second guess all your decisions, and trust me, it's much more exhausting to have those thoughts. Idk, Edward has no chill and I enjoyed it. Also, it showed that the vampires in Twilight aren't just some hot edgy people, they're vampires who could easily kill anyone and always have to be on their guard to watch themselves. I also loved all the inside moments with the Cullens, those were great.

I totally agree! I love how it brought Edward to a realistic level vs the Apollo-esque version in Twilight. In fact, it made me love him even more.

I think it's just fitting how your experience reading the book somehow mirrored Stephanie Meyer's experience of writting it. You started reading and then ended up taking a break and coming back to it much later on... As usual your vlogs are super fun to watch, specially because we all know how much of a fan your are of this series and you still don't hesitate without fiding flaw and roasting Edward. Just because we love something it doesn't mean you can't make fun of it, and it's amazing to see you doing that. This reading vlog was also well worth the wait!!!

I remember checking out if the book talk was released on her channel every single day for 3 months. And when i was going to camp with school, i was so afraid it would come out while i was at camp. This is my favorite book and this is my favorite channel. You got me into reading over and over again, and i am forever grateful!!! You are my biggest idol and inspiration ever! It feels like i know you, even though i don’t, but i can tell you are super lovely and friendly. ❤️

I seriously need a book set at least 20-30 years in the future. There is no way Charlie doesn't become a vampire. What do they tell Renee? Jacob and Renesmee. What is the Volturi's next move? So many directions this could go. Great vlog! 💗📖

Your reactions were literally mine. Like there were parts I really enjoyed, especially involving the Cullens. But the chasing James was so slow, he never shuts up, and I remember feeling really disenchanted to realize that sweet scenes at the end of Twilight were totally different in Edward's mind because he was already planning on leaving. And the pomegranate references annoyed me to no end. One time, I could deal with. But he brought it up so many times, I was like come on, I have no need to be reminded every three chapters that this is the reason behind the cover of the book.

This was an epic journey from time stamp to time stamp over the last 2 years 😂 I honestly thought this was pretty well written in comparison to the original and had a great time with the audiobook. I should probably read Life and Death at some point, but I just want a Host sequel. Still waiting on The Seeker and The Soul.

It was also cool how Jasper made Emmett seem like way more of a threat. Although, Emmett probably could have lived up to everything that Jasper had him appear as. And now I'm waiting for you to discover Renee's gift. It's more than we learned through Bella. (I know Aro has seen that in Edward's head. I wonder if he will think her gift worth going after . . . and will Renee end up being turned to save her from the Volturi? So . . . waiting impatiently for Stephenie Meyer to get around to telling Renesmee's story to learn what happens.)

I think Renesmee, again, will be the reason that the Volturi come back to wipe out the Cullens. Renesmee’s pregnancy will cause them great alarm. And since Renesmee has the same number of chromosomes as the wolves, which is why Jacob imprinted, her pregnancy will be full term. That gives the Volturi more time to plot and plan. (And using Renee could be in the cards. And if Charlie married Sue, he might decide to know more, and be a part of it this time.) But, who knows what Stephenie Meyer might come up with. She could surprise me. I always give her permission to use my ideas freely, should she ever come across them, and she finds them of value. Or, in case she already had the idea/s, and worries about going ahead with them after seeing how closely I guessed. I’m not going to write fanfic, and I only give SM permission to use them freely.

It actually loved midnight sun and it added a whole new layer of pain to me that Edward had already decided to leave in the hospital and was just waiting for the moment to leave. It made me dislike Renee even more like Bella loves her mom but Edward could see that Renee made her grow up to young so she wouldn’t have too.

Dude, I loved midnight sun. I completely agree that Edward is an anxious overthinking little bitch boy, but that kinda just made me love the story more bahaha. He was so teenage to me in this book. It's so funny because one of the reasons why I rescued my little dog was cause his name was jasper. He's a little 12 year old havanese so whenever I hear about the character names jasper killing something or being bad I giggle and think of my little dog doing that it's kind of bad lolol xD.
