My son loves trains 🚆🛤🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋 especially Railcars like those he thinks they are highly underrated and should be preserved, restored, and put back into service on lines that don't get rail service anymore carrying both passengers and mail. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build copies of RDC's and the departments of transportation should run them on tracks 🛤 that were abandoned and they should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were removed and use them again.

#9166 was used by the Reading Company for passenger service up until the Reading merged into Conrail, where it was then used by SEPTA for passenger service. #9168 was used by the New York Central and then Penn Central before it too was acquired by SEPTA. RBMN owns 3 RDCs but one is currently under restoration.

Awesome. I remember these well from my childhood back in the 1960's. We lived in West Wildwood NJ and the tracks for the Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines was right up the street. The RDC's brought vacationers in and out of Wildwood several times a day. Those tracks are long gone as are the two trestles.

Australian has the Budd Car (CB1 and CB2), sadly the CB 3 was in a fatal level crossing, killing a passenger and the driver. Is there anyone that can contact me in relation to the building and servicing of the Budd Cars. The CB 1 has been totally restored and the CB 2 may be acquired by myself if I can gain financial help to restore it and also gain servicing of the train, this is Australia last CB train in its rail history.
