The Nevermoor series is one of my most favorite series ever, and definitely my favorite middlegrade that I read in my adult years. I read it twice and am considering rereading it again, especially before the fourth book comes out. I think you should give it another try since it consistently gets more and more interesting. Btw I never thought it was similar to Harry Potter, but now I do see the similarities. I don't really mind that, since it's more in the tropes than anything else and I like this series a lot more

I find it so cool you read manga because it’s definitely something I don’t see a lot of booktubers do, my favourite ever manga is Berserk, it’s kinda long though but worth it, it’s my favourite story ever and I’d definitely recommend it💗 I love the HxH anime, but I admire how you prefer the manga because I see a lot of ppl dislike the art?? Idk how.

@Pierre In glorified cartoons? Their just comics/cartoons from Japan that’s why they have their own names like manga/anime. However I think a big reason why they stand out and have their own title being hella famous globally is because Japan has always been really different in what they portray in terms of style and themes, there’s such a range from shonen to shojo to seinen! And I think seinen manga/anime cover so much plots that cartoons such as from America or other countries hardly attempt to, since cartoons from many other places tend to just be more lighter in topics. Even stuff like family guy could be pushing it but it’s more of like cartoon sitcom that teens can watch, but I don’t think a 12 year old is mature enough to watch Berserk 1997 or Monster, things like that take an adult to watch it, or at least when you’re like 16-17 in my opinion.

Graceling and Fire were among my fav books when I started high school, which was when they first came out. I wrote an essay on Graceling and won a Chapters giftcard :) Bitterblue came out in my final year of high-school so I bought it but was too busy to read it, but I’d love to reread Graceling and Fire so I can finally read Bitterblue. I also see that almost 10 years later there is now a new fourth and fifth book written in the last two years, all the more motivation to jump back into this awesome series.

Never understood people who say “keep going it gets better after book/season/episode (x)”. It’s just like…if the first of the series, which is meant to draw me in, doesn’t draw me in, why should I continue?

I just finished Death's End and absolutely loved it! It took me a while to get into the Three Body Problem but the series only increases in scale as they go along. I think my favourite part is how in depth and thorough the scientific explanation is, as a physics student it scratched my science brain.

I wasn't overly fond of the first Morrigan Crow book, but fortunately I continued the series. For me it was jump in rating from 3.0-3.5 stars to 4.0-4.5 stars. I liked book 2 and 3 so much more. 😍

As someone who’s read the entire Vampire Chronicles series-I think Interview with the Vampire is super different from Vampire Lestat/Queen of the Damned. Part of that is that Interview was written like 10? years before the bulk of the series, part of that is that it’s narrated by Louis, whereas Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, and lots of other books are narrated by Lestat, who gives them a totally different tone and energy because he’s just SO different from Louis. I’m someone who really struggled with Interview, but Vampire Lestat is what hooked me. Lots of people are the other way around. But the books in The Vampire Chronicles span so many different kinds of characters and narratives, I wouldn’t be discouraged if you don’t love Vampire Lestat-you’ll probably find something in the series for you again if you liked Interview that much.

I personally got all of the vampire chronicles this year after re-watching the film and the tv show. I have yet to continue the series but I do know every book is different in genre and tone. Can't wait to see your reading journey on the series 🍄

I am really looking forward to reading The Fifth Season and Fortuna Sworn this year and trying out more series in general. I am terrible at series. Even if I really enjoy the first book (Six of Crows, Ember in the Ashes) I don't feel the urge to continue. I decided to read 2 books before I add a series to my list and right now the only one on the list is the Veronica Speedwell series.

I have started to avoid series instinctively due to the issues I have remembering characters and world building unless I start the next book immediately. Except I decided to read the cannon Star Wars novels and it feels like 10 series that all connect (although I have adored every one so far)

I read The Lord of The Rings six times cover to cover including appendices over a period of about 11 years. I gained new understanding and appreciation for each reread. I read The Hobbit just once and have no inclination to reread it. I also read The Silmarillion just once though I might reread that if interest sparks in me.

I'm probably in the middle of around 20-25 but I've picked 15 to prioritise this year and try and finish (one done so far in January). Have now added some more series to my tbr thanks to this video though... And I am excited to find someone who also DNFed The Name of the Wind! My friends all love this series, so I was excited to read it, but I really didn't like the first one and have zero intention to read any further. Also DNFed The Wheel of Time after 4 books, life is too short. However, the Three Body Problem series is amazing, loved it!

The books by Kerstin Gier were some of my favorites when I was younger, but they are definitely more for younger children (I think I read them around age 10?). Adults can still enjoy them, it's just not gonna be the best you've ever read xD

I feel the same way when it comes to the ASOIAF series. I finished the second book and I had to stop myself because I don’t know if we’ll ever get Winds of Winter (don’t even get me started on Dreams of Spring). But re-reading A Game of Thrones and watching House of the Dragon just pulled me right back in so now, I’m thinking about re-reading the first two books and starting the rest 😅

Wow that is a great video. I have read a couple of series there 1. Wheel of Time - The first book for me was the 3rd weakest book in the whole series. It was like LOTR because Jordan mentioned he would not get published otherwise. It became its own thing by the middle of book 2. Book 2 was what made me love the series and was my favorite. I hope you give book 2 a chance before DNFing the series 2. Also if you like WoT, you might Sanderson and his stormlight archive 3. Did not know you read Manga, those are some great series you have. Have you thought of One Piece? That’s was what I grew up with and fell in love with the genre

I honestly never thought to count my ongoing book series, it's kinda weird to hear you say it bothers you but I can see why it could be a bigger problem to someone who reads so much. I wouldn't feel too bad about it tho, because reading can be very mood-based and forcing yourself to continue series just to get them over with doesn't sound very enjoyable. Usually, I keep the books I liked in a series even if I decide not to continue it, as long as it makes me happy to have them on my shelf, I guess. Nice haircut, Emma! I always feel so good after making a drastic change to my appearance. I don't miss wearing a billion bobby pins to the gym tho

You should definitely try Emma by Kaoru Mori if you are looking for a good wholesome manga! It's about a maid and a wealthy young man in Victorian England who fall in love, and the story follows them as they try to make their relationship work. It's super cute!
