These young people have trained hard for this. Accepted, It's not competition winning but its certainly NOT rubbish. The Guard Commander does have to keep his arms straight and this video should help him with that but he delivers the commands with great diction, volume & clarity....far better than I've heard from several regular RAF parade commanders. No prizes but a good effort and keep it up blue jackets.
Watching this as an air cadet so I can make fun of my friend (a sea cadet) by awkwardly sliding their feet across the floor instead of normally stamping them in. And also she said that they don’t shout the commands? Maybe just because she is indoors

As an air cadet in a CCF with an army section but no navy section to me the way they do drill is really unusual. For instance we have an extra check pace on the halt when we march, and we come to attention with a stomp.
I agree, my squadron shares a compound with theACF but not the sea cadets. I do not understand what they are doing or saying! (Basically right dress and March are all I get)
Yes I will have to agree with you there, I find that some young people these days join a cadet force without fully understanding what they are joining, and end up not caring about anything (uniform care and etiquette, routine, timekeeping and especially drill) to the point where - in my experience - they don't show up at all and only arrive for the fun events or after a regular drill routine has finished. It really annoys me and highlights how lazy younger generations have become.
Unpopular opinion but I do like the way they don't stomp down and they just do the thing with the foot (I don't know the term), I know it's to do with being on ships/boats and not damaging the decks but it is really snazzy -South and East Midlands wing Air Cadet

Right, just to clarify for everyone, this is the Sea Cadets in the UK. I am a Sea Cadet and my god, the squad commander is really bad at marching! Arms have to come up to shoulder height and be straight. The Sea Cadets are great but they need some more drill training.
I think a lot of comments are having a laugh, but i do not see much better marchers anywhere one in the service. These kids did a great job, if our guys marched like this on ANZAC day i would be impressed. Stop being so judgmental, good on the kids i say.
as a sea cadet, this is a poor example of what drill shouod look like, especially in drill comp. there is high standards in british sea cadets with marching and if them standards are not met, there is training sessions thwt are arranged. in this instance where it is a competition, points would be deducted due to the standards not being met.

Yeah, it's to show they domt have dirty hands and they're gentlemen or something weird. It was back when the navy was first made so they were always getting dirty
for gods sake this isn't what all squadrons do and please for christ sake don't argue about what types of cadets are better and also for the air and army cadets this isn't a good example to judge sea cadets on.
I don't know about you, but the Canadian Drill and Ceremonial instructions say so: "16. On the command ATTENTION BY NUMBERS, SQUAD - ONE, squad members shall bend the left knee and shift their balance to the right foot."
Ewwww sea cadets I’m a army cadet btw and I just cring watching this half of them don’t know what there doing We do that at my detachment and we would be getting strikes no argument Disgraceful
