I've been meaning to read Fluids along with Leitz's other books. She has a youtube channel called Nyx Fears where she reviews and analyzes mostly horror movies, along with disturbing books and music. She's really fun to watch and so intelligent
Mique! I know you are totally busy as a full time author now, but I miss your videos on your channel! Are you going to ever do more videos or are you done with your channel?! I LOVED Them and Broken Dolls!! 🤗
Have you read The Death of Jane Lawrence before? I read it back in June 2023, and it was WILD; I gave it 3.5 stars. I still think about it now, It is probably not going to be your favorite, but I would love to hear your thoughts!
Been meaning to read May Leitz have a few on my Kindle, I think. Cool video... so let's say you HATED Be My Friend, which you clearly didn't... how comfortable would you be giving it a NEGATIVE review being that you are friends with Mique? This one sounds intriguing, I just wonder if you WOULD give him a negative review if something wasn't good. I liked Them but didn't LOVE it, and haven't gotten to Broken Dolls. Thanks as always! Can't wait for that new Chandler Morrison you lucky dog!
I would feel fine telling him if I didn’t like something or didn’t like his book and I don’t think that would have any impact on my relationship with him as a person. I think as long as that’s handled respectfully there is no reason to be dishonest.
Great video as always. The actual premise of Short Stay in Hell sounds horrifying. Regardless of how easy life is, how many millions or billions of years of existence could a human mind possibly tolerate
I loved Fluids when I read it so I'm stoked you liked it!! I think it was only my second extreme horror book ever so it was a ride for me for sure. lol I just finished Portrait of a Nuclear Family by J.P. Behrens and if you want something bleak as hell with a side of unhinged woman, I recommend it. Takes a minute to get used to the writing style but once it picks up, it's insane.
I really like the cover of Mique’s new book ! I’m going to have to try to find this book …. I’ve never read from him …. The subject matter sounds good to me …
I listened to "Short stay in Hell" as an audio book a while ago. No idea what Zoroastrianism is. Good book. It does hammer in the true horror of eternal existence by presenting this decidedly non-eternal punishment.
Have you ever heard about the "Tower Dungeon"? I have the feeling, that it's going to be my new favorite. Reading it feels like you're reading a horror story, that's happening in a world of horror. All the characters treat the horrifying things in the world as if it was just normal.... and then the actual horror story kicks in. Which is too much even for them. Horror in a world of horror. I just wish the creator would finish it already.
Now I feel bad for recommending A Short Stay in Hell... Still I don't come here to have my own opinions parroted back to me. I did laugh when you said it was for smart people cos to put it mildly that aint me lol
Did my French-speaking ass legitimately hear "diarrhea trees" instead of "diary entries"? MAYBE 😂 i am struggling to find time and energy to read recently, but your videos help! Take care
You decide in the first 30 pages that A Short Stay in Hell is going to be a "trying to give me a life lesson" book (it isn't) and then after finishing it are still complaining about this supposed life lesson. I'm curious what you think it was.
I feel as if a good character study is what makes up for a "meh" plot. Here’s an unpopular opinion I didn’t like the movie "Talk to Me" because of the "these things are bad for you mm'kay" plot was repeatedly shoved in your face. Also (side note), almost any time religion/spirituality are brought up as a plot point in any media i just walk away lol.
@@ReadingWithMeg I remember what I felt about the trailer when I first saw it. This better not be a movie about a haunted handshake…low and behold that’s exactly what it was about.
