reading taylor swifts favorite books and discovering easter eggs / references to books in her music videos and lyrics!!! ⭐️instagram: / haleypham ⭐️bookmarks and booksleeves: haleypham.com/ ⭐️brand inquiries: haley@night.co
Haley, I think you’re discovering that literary fiction can often be more rewarding than other so called “easier” reads. I am so excited to hear your opinions of more books that are known for their beautiful writing.
Yeah, it's thought-out and deep! Rom coms (and romances in general) can be fun, but also predictable with cliche circumstances and flat characters, or just plain inappropriate. Literary and religious fiction have messages that make you think, even if you don't have the same beliefs. 💜
in «Dont Blame Me» she also says «I once was poison ivy, but now I'm your daisy», i was actually considering writing about taylors references to the great gatsby for my BA thesis
Classics are so jam packed full of deep thoughts, and underlying plots. They are amazing, and it makes me really happy to see you reading them ♥️ Thank you Taylor Swift!
I'm about to finish 1984 by George Orwell and it's simple to read and understand. But mind-blowing, Orwell wrote his books with the idea of everyone being able to understand no matter what class people belonged in, in that time.
A Tale of Two Cities will always be my favorite classic. I have never looked at knitted pieces and quilted pieces in the same way after finishing this book.
Jane Eyre is an absolute masterpiece. Could be one of my favourite books of all time. I'm trying to read more classics this year too. I'm going to have to put The Great Gatsby on my list aswell!!
anne of green gables and little women are two just incredible classics that have some of the best lines in them, definitely the kind of book you will want to underline and write in the margins for! loving your videos haley keep smashing it
part 2 pls? just finished jane eyre bc of ttpd announcement!! jane eyre is so interwoven into her lyrics (specifically in folklore), and reading it you can see how her lyrics and povs relate to certain characters vs others. but i would also just love to hear your take on the novel bc of the themes in the book. 🫶🏼
It would be so cool if you did a video about all of your favorite clean reads because it is so hard to find some these days! And thx so much for posting consistently I love your videos so much!❤
It’s crazy how a taylor has time to read books, with the eras tour, music videos, ttpd, it’s mind bending if you think about it! edit: shut up darn replies, you try being a celebrity edit 2: this was almost 2 months ago SHUT UP
@@crisilie1973 well you try living a day as a celebrity and try and find time to read. Even when you think she’s stopped she’s probably still thinking about things.
Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. It has my all time favorite book boyfriend in it. It’s gorgeous, exciting, full of brilliant insight into human behavior. I couldn’t put it down. Glad you’re getting into classics, Haley! I tend to read more classics than any other genre now bc they just deliver so much more. Happy reading!
I love Rebecca so much, i'm so happy you read it and enjoyed it. Here are other classics I recomend: Jane Eyre, The phantom of the opera and the secret garden.
when you were reading out the quotes, all i could think is how nice your voice would be on an audiobook! I would definitky listen to it!! ❤ love your videos
I love your reading vlogs so much!!! I am just here playing and listening to it in the background while doing my work and it makes me excited to read the book I have, for some reason!! and your vlogs just makes me look forward to reading at the end of the day! Makes me make time and not just lounge away lol. Thank you Haley!!! I love your videos so much xo
I love your vids Haley, but what made me click was the bangs and I felt bamboozled in the end when you clipped them in 😂 they look great! And I haven’t read these classics either, I half assed them in school but now I genuinely want to read them! On my read list now!!!
I love this video. Its not the typical "popular" books reviews tou do. I love that your appreciateing literature and i hopw you carry on reading good books.
as a huge swiftie and a "book nerd" (quotations because i dont read books like you do, i wish!!) this video was perfect! thank you. love your channel sooooo much!!!
as a reader/swiftie who has never read classic books that taylor have read, this video made me interested to start! ❤️ thanks, haley! my favorite taylor swift song is ‘this is me trying’ from folklore
This video was so amazing!! I love that you are discovering "classics", because they are really top-tier literature and for me personally so much more rewarding to read that the usual "viral" books.
I completely agree the "viral" "booktok" "bestselling" books aren't doing it for me. I fell in love with classics, but read trope books or ya books that weren't doing it for me. So I am now reading more plot based and classic books. Rather than for the trope or smut. It's a personal preference.
Omg love this video so much!!! I’m such a huge swiftie and also have gotten so many book recs from you so I definitely need to get these books ASAP! 😂🫶🏻 my fav taylor song is Last Kiss/Timeless! 💜✨
Haley! Geriatric millennial here, I'm so excited that you read Rebecca! Daphne DuMaurier is my favorite classic writer and I know that by you reviewing her work it will lead to more people seeking her work out. Keep doing what you're doing!
I use to love to read as kid but just lost it somewhere in my teens but finding your channel has reignited my love I had for reading. I love hearing your passion & you talk about the books you read. I totally found the version of The Great Gatsby you had on iTunes & bought it it was only $1.99 haha. I never read it in school either.
Hayley, you inspire me to want to go back to reading again. Haven't read a full book in like at least 5 years. 😅 More content like this, please. Thank you, and much love from the 🇵🇭
As someone who adores classics, I am so thrilled you're reading them Haley! You should read Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier. It's a much shorter mystery with romance sprinkled in. I think you'll love it!
I have been reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and it is such an excellent book, I definitely recommend it!! Also, my favorite Taylor Swift song right now is probably champagne problems :))
My favorite classics are Little women, the secret garden, a little princess and Pride and prejudice. Especially the first three have very cozy, wholesome vibes. Im currently in the middle of 1984 and I think you might enjoy that. A lot of thought is put into that one as well and it is relatively easy to read.
This was so much fun!! It's definitely a goal of mine to read more classics this year, so this was super inspiring 💛 My favorite classics of all time (currently) are Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm hoping to read Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, and Don Quixote soon!
As someone who has evermore as their favorite album/era and who reads, Rebecca will definitely be a book I will read. The lyrics and meaning behind every song is so powerful and beautiful. Evermore is her saddest and most beautiful era. It’s so underrated. Tolerate it, it’s time to go, and Happiness are definitely the 3 saddest of the album in my opinion but the lyrics are so well put together! Love you Haley! 😘
I absolutely love reading classics. For my college liberal arts core, my classmates and I have been working through the classics starting with Homer, and we're about to reach Paradise Lost. My two suggestions for novels would be either Jane Eyre or Don Quixote (if you want to consider how we can read without going crazy), but if you want short stories both Flannery O'Connor and Anton Chekhov are amazing.
I loved this video 😊 I agree, I definitely love books that require a little more effort. Those are the ones that really stay with me; it's why a "slow read" is never a bad thing for me. That being said, there's definitely still good reason to read easier books as well. Rebecca is one of my favourite classics, and I also read it because of Taylor Swift!
