So… re: the “interesting point” at 19:54 - there is a whole genre of fanfic which features this as a trope and while she did not invent this idea frankly Ali Hazelwood’s bravery to bring this to the mainstream romance girlies is, well, an audacious move.

This was so good! I read both books and it was so fun to see your thoughts! I loved bride so much but I was a bit scared to talk about it in my February wrap up because of the smut that I shamefully ate up 😂

I loved Bride and yes, I also really really want a second book or novella about those two characters at the end. I would read Ms. Hazelwood's grocery list at this point but this would be perfect right about now.

Thanks for the amusing video and reviews. I have both on my TBR, and own both books, so now I want to move them up in the queue. I didn't know much about Bride, so to find out it is a slooow burn and more romantasy with world building over romance with a splash of fantasy elements is a good thing in my book. SO I have some anticipation going thanks to you.

Idk if you’ve read it but I recommend ‘The Note’ and ‘The Postcard’ by Zoë Folbigg. It’s loosely based on the author’s life.

Ali Hazelwood is kinda hit or miss for me but I loved Bride!! I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. I feel the same on Ex Hex. Did what it set out to do and I enjoyed it but nothing really special about it.
