People are forgetting banned cards. Out of all cards in the game the most toxic card that isn't a floodgate or negation based card would be Gumblar. A generic link boss monster designed to rip your opponents entire hand is outrageously toxic.

I say we ban the floodgates and free Runick. This helps the 20+ Runick variants while only hurting stun players, which is basically a win for everyone.

Yugioh really has gotten to a point where people are debating whether or not pot of greed and card of safe return can come back in the game. We're about 70 banlists behind at this point.

I think farfa's worst hot take is "just don't watch what you don't like" a lot of times people have to actually process/watch something to realize they don't like it. I had to watch a fair bit of some other yugitubers till i realized it wasn't a one off moment, they legit get on my nerves, and people should be allowed to complain when they don't like something in stuff they normally like

I’d argue that guy was right - Shifter is more toxic than necrovalley due to being a lingering floodgate that just needs to be dropped from the hand on either players turn and can only really be outed by called by or crossout if there is no established board w a negate which there pretty much never is when it’s activated. Its like yeah it technically doesnt deny you something like a reborning effecf from grave like necrovalley but what are you gonna do reborn a shifter cause everything else you send, foolish, discard, or use as material is gone. You cant cosmic, lightning storm, evenly, or phoenix shifter away. You can’t do anything that needs to go to grave or send to grave for cost which can turn off older hand traps like veiler. And majority of the decks playing shifter are gonna be stun ns dyna set four pass or some deck that thrives from or doesnt care about having their stuff banished.

I strongly disagree about the hand traps. "oh they're good because they stop the opponent from making an unstoppable board" > then the player who used the hand trap proceeds to get his turn and do an unstoppable board themselves... First and foremost, there shouldn't be unstoppable insta win boards, for either player. There should be no situation that requires you to "draw the out" or lose. Hand traps stop the other player from establishing a board, from playing, and that feeling sucks, no matter what stage of the game i'm at. Behind, ahead, first turn, third turn. Any time i would rather get "owned" by a board breaker after i had the chance to play my cards, than get stopped before i even do my play. Whether that board breaker is 1 card or 3 cards is for another discussion. This is a similar situation to PVP games that have stun abilities. Getting stun-locked for 5 seconds, unable to do anything while the opponent proceeds to kill you is not a pleasant experience to have in a game. It's like you're just a sandback and your opponent is the only one playing the game.

Simple fix for called by "Tapped on the Shoulder By the Grave" This Card cannot be activated on the first turn of the duel. Target 1 monster in your opponent's GY; banish it, and if you do, until the end of the next turn, its effects are negated, as well as the activated effects and effects on the field of monsters with the same original name.

Ngl i think Zaborg the mega monarch would be considered toxic if it was made in a modern day deck instead of being a monarch. If that thing was made modern day it would most likely not be locked behind a tribute summon. . . Imagine a monster that sends just under 2/3 of the opponents extra deck to the grave for free on summon by simply targeting itself for destruction. . . AND if summoned a certain way allows you to CHOOSE those 2/3 cards. . . This card alone can completely shut down a lot of decks that rely on the extra deck. Being a monarch card and therefore locked behind a tribute summon to trigger is the only thing preventing this card from earning the toxic title lol. Edit: by 2/3 i mean two thirds, not two out of three.

The goal of Yu-Gi-Oh is prevent your opponent from playing Yu-Gi-Oh. Only you get to play. No one else.

My favorite Master Duel combo is definitely: Opponent ends turn 1 on nothing but a 4 material Apollousa, Pass, Activate Konkon, Activate Mudan, tribute for cost, opponent surrenders.

I don't think runick is the problem with stun, the reason they are commonly paired together is because they give you a resource loop that isnt impacted by your floodgates and give you a win con via deck out while also giving tools that allow you to protect your floodgates or help you stall to establish them. I've never heard of anyone sane complain about any other runick strategy besides the stun variant which indicates that maybe the floodgates are the problem after all

Called by is an insanely toxic card in every way besides being a counter to maxx C, which is the only reason I think it’s fine in master duel (unless they wanna let us run 3 crossout or 6 ash blossoms lmao). It should absolutely be banned in the TCG though. Going first with called by gives you such a strong plus to ensure your board goes through, which generally means you win the game. Ban called by the same list you ban Maxx C, EZ.

Reminds me of a time when I played against a crooked cook turbo deck in diamond that ran 3 cook and as many cards to remove things from the graveyard and extra deck as possible trying to ED rip the underworld goddess and banish it or other cards from the gy to prevent you from using it multiple times if you got rid of 1 cook. I legit lost cause they kept handtrapping me trying to establish a board to goddess them, then when I finally made goddess I didn't hit for lethal. They immediately drew into another shark card to make the cook again. I had to get my goddess into the gy and then shuffle it back with a shuffler(I was on tear) but they had DOUBLE DD CROW in hand and so I literally had no other outs in my deck. I tried to start hitting for piercing damage with Garura but I think they raigeki'd my board and used the 3rd dd crow on my garura and thats when I ragequit.

Today I learned that Red Reboot is still legal in MD. I just assumed it's banned. Might put that into my deck to out Evenly and Solemns.

Called by is needed untill mulcarmys are banned and card like droll are aswell

the ultra powered/toxic cards may be less hated if it still benefit the opponent in some way instead of just having a (exploitable) cost

said it before, but fountain to 1 doesn't do anything to address the stun variant, as it can just sit on one fountain easily. so they _should_ either go nuclear on the floodgate tools or, if they refuse to do that, at least bump fountain back up to 2, so combo variants of runick aren't as kneecapped because of hits to stun that don't even address stun properly. destruction should honestly probably go up to at least 2 as well. if we're gonna hit runick quick-plays to address the stun variant, we should probably just be going after the practically always live ones (tip, slumber, golden droplet). hell, golden droplet to 1 would be practically a hit _exclusively_ to runick stun, as it's basically the only runick deck that uses it for its first ability. in anything else, it's just in for more names to cycle through, and ideally only used exclusively for its second ability also, for this hypothetical you-get-to-unlock-1-banned-card-for-personal-use duel trial, I'd probably go with chaos ruler. though kelbek, just to flex the royal again, would be tempting edit: also, yes, I do realize that the stun variant would play 2 fountain if it could and get a boost from having easier access to, a means to cycle more spells for additional floodgates, as well as a backup if the first gets outed. still, non-stun variants just get more value out of having access to multiple fountains vs stun

I mean, I agree that Called by is strong going first, but so are hand traps. If you set up a whole board and still have an ash or veiler as well, I think it’s okay if the player going second had called by.

Red reboot is a good trap. The only downside is the halve life point you have to pay.

the runick take is actually true. floodgates are not a beneficial part of the game that is being broken by runick. they are already broken and runick is ride shaing.

As someone who mains mikanko right now, Kashtira unicorn doesn't affect me in any way but fenrir does. Kashtira as a whole is my most hated deck alongside runick. Decks that just plus off of banishing your deck are not okay

I will defend Called by the Grave. We have way too many hand traps, some of them which really shouldn't exist and stop entire turns by themselves (Maxx C, Droll and Shifter, thank you TCG). We also got a fuck ton of interaction coming from the grave nowadays, which are completely safe from most common board breakers. There needs to be a limit to how much hand traps can hurt you, there needs to be a moment where I'm able to play the game, and Called by helps both going first and going second equally.

The argument "hand traps SHOULD go through" can be flipped around, what if you go second against an established board AND hand traps. Because that's a much more fair scenario

How much of a hot take is it to say turns are too long now? I know, yugi-boomer over here, point and laugh, but I've had a few games where I was able to use the restroom, make lunch, eat lunch, watch a quick video and my opponent was still not done with their turn. I realistically feel like the moment I see a summon from a top deck, I'm free for about 10-15 minutes to do whatever I need to do that day while they finish the combo. That being said, I have the counterplay, being a lot of the go 2nd board breakers as most top decks nowadays don't run too many spell/trap negates, but it doesn't make it any less annoying to wait so long.

Imo we cannot have fun yugioh gameplay until they will be banning broked cards down the list as far as nibiru ban, because imo if you just start banning broken cards one by one, until you have just fair interactions, nibiru is that last card or among the last cards that really restricts many fair things for no reason and it is worse than maxx "C" for the game in healthy state.

i think called by the grave is fine if they errata it and make it so you can play it from the hand on your opponents turn making it live on draw if you go second. shifter needs to be banned i hate that card

Nah called by is fine because if you go second it’s the difference between defeat and triumph sometimes. It would be way more toxic if it weren’t for the fact that most hand traps have no activation requirements. And saying that hand traps shouldn’t be countered is also a bad take especially when we talk about Ash, Maxx c, and Shifter.
