An event organised by the Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust to mark 50 years since the last trolleybuses ran in Reading, featuring various vintage buses operating on former Reading Corporation and Thames Valley routes.
Very nice video, thank you. Where the buses are stopping, on the South side of Station Hill, is where the Rank Tower, with the Thames Valley/Alder Valley 'bus station used to be. Well done to the participants for the very nice condition of their buses, many over 50 years old.
Wow, takes me back. Train or bus to Reading from Bracknell on a Saturday? I used to go to the football in the afternoon, bus to Tilehurst road (17, I think), and sometimes to the model train shop, Eames at the bottom of Station Hill.
Are the red/ burgundy coloured buses the ones from the 70's/ 80's? This is the time I was at school, not a happy time, bullying on the school bus stopped me using public transport for a very long time after. Really interesting to watch
